Do City really need Adebayor? This strikes me as possibly a leak by city to hurry up the Tevez deal. That being said, if the plan is to play Robinho on the wing next season, then this could be an interesting option.

City for now have to content themselves with purchasing mercenaries, and with Santa Cruz's injury history and Tevez not being a goal-scoring striker he would be a top addition to the club.

Adebayor is a goal-scorer and with van persie being injury prone, eduardo still a bit injury prone and Bendtner not good enough we would miss his presence.

If he goes i doubt wenger buys a replacement

Hasn't Wenger already appointed a replacement? The Bordeaux striker?

This could mean we get massive money for him!

was happy at first when i saw this, but who are we gonna replace him with?

its going to be a player that will need time to adapt yet again for another season

Tevez' wages would be too high.

We need a tall striker, with a bit of presence.

We also need a tenacious midfielder to win the ball back, with a little bit of flair. Look no further than...

but i do like this quote from le boss;

"Obviously, yes, because I’m at a point in my career where I must consider these things. I’ve been at Arsenal for twelve years and I do not want to become stagnant. But, I refused because I have built a young team and I wanted to finish what I started. There’s no doubt that this will be a decisive year. If this team is not challenging for a title, the club will rebuild everything."

lets hope its true the last bit ;-)

I think thats fair enough, we saw enough from the team last yeat to see that there is a lot of ability there, they deserve another crack at it with a decent defence behind them (which will hopefully be sorted).

If it doesnt work, then its back to the drawing board, seems fair to me.

If he does go it will weaken the squad in an area where we are already light given the proneness to injury of most of our strikers. So I would be very concerned until I see a replacement.
Selling an ineffective player who has long since given up is not weakening the squad.

This is good news, now the team can go back to the snappy passing which teams cant cope with (rather then all this slow, sideways passing bollox that gets broken down at the wings when Ade gets it and passes back to who passed it to him) and if a plan B needs to be used then Wenger will just send for Bendtner for his height.

Ain't ideal but then Ade is no loss and would rather that then have to watch his arrogant excuse of a footballer lead the line any more.
