Anyone except Arsene please. Yes he has been great for us but his time is up. What we have witnessed over the last 5 years at this club is a fucking joke and wouldn't be tolerated at top clubs like Chelsea. When they realised Avram Grant weren't good enough for them they got rid, our board should take notice and do the same.

if you are old enough to remember then the cwc was considered a big enough trophy back then, as was the uefa cup.it was only when they changed the cl to allow teams that weren't champions then both these got devalued because the top 3-4 from the bigger leagues were only playing in the new cl.

Who are you trying to kid? It was the 3rd string European competition. I loved winning that trophy and the run to the final the next year (the semi final against sampdoria is one of my favourite ever matches), but I'm not deluded enough to think that the quality of competition was top notch.

You ignore my point anyway. Would you be happy finishing 12th and winning the Europa league? You see that as progress over our current side?

i got your point vlad.. and no i wouldnt and am not happy now.

but i stick by my point as well and the cwc wasnt considered a shit little cup back then,,

just remember the big teams we beat in both the years we got to the final, anyway not trying to pick a fight here

Rebel Gooner, I loved winning that trophy! I had a framed picture on my wall of the winning team when I was younger and I cried like a baby the next year when we lost in the final. I am proud we won that trophy, but I just took another look and the standard especially in the first 3 rounds was unbelieveably poor.

I'm not trying to pick a fight either, I just despair at all the negativity and not being able to say anything possible without being told its not Arsene FC. I guess I'm just a mega rose tinter and proud

i havnt called for wenger to be sacked but pressure needs to be put on him as its just not good enough we have been told year after year that the young players have to come of age that time has come and they are simply not good enough, not all but a lot of them would not have even been squad players in the 2004 team and prior

Before the Champions League was formed, all 3 European competitions were taken very seriously, and winning the Cup Winners Cup WAS a big deal, even if you are trying to suggest otherwise.

For your information, the UEFA Cup used to be very presitgious too... as was the FA Cup, and even the League Cup! - now, because of money, it's all about 2 tournaments, and I think that's very sad

All I'm saying is show some respect for what we've won in the past, and don't discredit what were fine achievements at the time!

um.. the cup winners cup was the name previously given to the uefa cup..so it's the same as the fucking Europa league you tit!

Top post. I think our pal would also do well to remember that Arsene had the chance to win one of the so-called booby prizes i.e. the modern UEFA Cup and even failed in that, losing to the mighty Galatasaray in the final, hence allowing the first ever Turkish winners of a European trophy.

nothing wrong with a bit of optimism mate,but even the most optimistic person can see the faults of our first 11 and the reason more and more people are turning is because they too can see what is wrong with our club, to me the one person who doesnt seem to see the problems is wenger himself which is sad because he has been a great servant ,great manager and a great man,
me personally i have little faith anymore and am seriously losing it with the manager,
