There is no need to restrict ourselves to Bundesliga,la liga and serie a there are some good players in croatia, serbia etc and there cheaper.Every time we delve into the transfer market we seem to restrict ourselves to france where others have picked up some class players from further east like vidic, petrov etc.
I don't know what our scouts directives are but there all seem to pouncing around france ,except for odd occasion when 1 got lost and find Rosicky, verminator. It just pisses me off that we suppose to have this network of fantastic scouts but never unearth players like we use to ?????

We won't buy any one in January. We will all read the bollocks rumours in the press, hang on every word in AW's press conference hoping he'll throw us a bone but it won't happen. We will buy some 5 year old on the 31st January at 11.59pm and 58 seconds. We will all groan and bear it...as usual...like we have a choice.
Our support's taken for granted by the board who jizz on us from a great height whilst counting their dosh, I say this as I look for an over prized Xmas present for my nephew on the AFC website.
I am getting sick of transfer windows. I know we all got a little bit excited by getting Arshavin last January but how many of us wouldn't have happily wanked Arsene off if he'd bought a good holding CM, a world class keeper,a defender and a striker(No less than 6'4"" for all those players).
I am selfish and have had enough of bollocks. I want to challenge for a trophy. I mean proper challenge not the pretty bollocks that we all know will end in tears when Chelsea/Utd or even an injury free Villa come a-knocking.
I've had enough of being slagged off by the media every Monday morning or worse being patronised by the f'ers.
I came away from the game yesterday and didn't feel as good as I should after a win because all I expect now is a good old fight for 3rd and 4th place no more than that. How can that be right to be thinking that in December with 2/3rds of the season left to go.
It is right because we won't bolster our squad where it's needed, we won't stop buying more 4 foot attacking midfielders and AW will keep allowing the joke that is Almunia to keep wearing a jersey worn by real legends Seaman,Wilson and even Lehmann.

Dzeko is made for Arsenal, but...
- Wenger is sticking with Nicholas 'lump of wood' Bendtner
- Boro Primorac (Bosnian himself) suggested Dzeko to Wenger 3 years ago, when he was available for £3 million. Wenger declined. To buy him now would be admitting his mistake, and AW never admits his mistakes.
- Any day now Wenger will point to our goalscoring record being the best in the league, so no need for yet another striker
- Considering 18 goals conceded in 14 league games, maybe goalie or a defender would be priority.
Sad fact is, Dzeko will end up in either ManUre or Chelsky this summer and we'll all be cursing Wenger for not buying him for £20...

A few observations -
1. I would prefer any transfer dealings we do in jan (
) be from the stronger leagues like la liga, seria a, ligue 1 or the bundesliga cos we need proven quality players right now and not players who have yet to prove they can do it in a 2nd rate league. I would suggest we have enough promising players who should be ready to hit the heights (
) in a year to 18 months so we need players that will make a difference now.
2. Can somebody clarify the ruling on transfers for me please ? I was under the impression that once a player has played in the group stages of champs lge he cannot play for another team in champs lge this season but am getting the impression from previous comments that some believe that if a team gets knocked out of the group stages then their players can go and play for another team in the knockout stages - which is the proper rule ? If I am right then the signings of players like dzeko or lloris would mean sacrificing any hopes of winning the champs lge this season and although I would accept that I suspect many others wouldnt
3. My list of priorities are as follows - (a) quality keeper (needs no explaination) (b) quality tough DM (c) flip a coin to decide whether cover at centre back or a centre forward is the bigger priority. I know most will disagree with putting the purchase of a centre forward that far down the list but bedtner (allowing for his obvious weaknesses) could provide the physical presence we are lacking and with arshavin/eduardo/vela alongside him we might be ok but the fact that we are conceding sooo many goals means that generally speaking scoring 1 goal is never enough so we need to tighten up at the back and maybe start getting a few more 1 nil victories again

Arsenal set to make January move for West Ham striker Carlton Cole - Exclusive
Published 23:00 05/12/09 By Steve Stammers
[quote]Carlton Cole is the number one target for Arsenal as manager Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his strike force in next month’s transfer window.
West Ham striker Cole is seen as the ideal man to add strength and physical presence to a forward line that has been left lightweight by the absence through injury of Robin van Persie and Nicklas Bendtner.
And while Danish international Bendtner will be back within weeks, Van Persie will be lucky to play any part in Arsenal’s season after a severe ankle injury he suffered while playing for Holland against Italy in an international friendly.
Wenger has conceded he needs to find another front man in January – and Cole fits the bill.
He has improved immensely under Gianfranco Zola’s management and has emerged as a strong contender for the England World Cup squad that goes to the finals in South Africa next summer.
The 26-year-old is out of action at the moment with a knee injury but should be fit in four weeks.
Zola will not want to sell Cole but cash-strapped West Ham will find an offer of £15million difficult to resist.
The added attraction for Arsenal is that Cole will be available for the Champions League – and his presence will allow Wenger to ensure that Bendtner is not over-used in the taxing months to come.
Cole has now developed into one of the most formidable front men in the Premier League.
His career began at Chelsea but stalled on the launchpad and he had loan spells at the likes of Wolves, Aston Villa and Charlton.
But since Zola took over at Upton Park, Cole has found consistency and is rated highly by England manager Fabio Capello.
Wenger, meanwhile, has hailed veteran defender Mikael Silvestre for being a huge influence on the club’s young players.

Cant be arsed about transfer spec this january after the let down last time of getting AA in the last min then not playing him for a month and THEN not playing him against the chavs
Fact is we cant afford anyone worth more than £15mill. Unlike Greedy who was unknown, Dzeko now has the picking of any top club in europe and I doubt Arsenal is high on that list.
He should have been bought in the summer but will now be part of the list of players that would have made a difference but was never bought only "admired"

Any player who has played in the group stages of the C/L will be cup-tied for any other team he signs.Hope that cleared 1 point up Augie.
Word is that Dzeko might be available for 15mil in jan or 10mil in the summer(probably false reporting
)but also Manure might be having financial problems thats why they pulled out of the transfer with a serbian player..sorry can't remember name..this might be another rumour but it makes sense why there didn't strengthen in the summer and why there bringing in younger players now?

He signed a new contract this past summer so thats impossible and with Real Madrid turning the market upside down he will go for 18mill+.Exiled-Gooner wrote:Any player who has played in the group stages of the C/L will be cup-tied for any other team he signs.Hope that cleared 1 point up Augie.
