Actually you don’t get it at all BG because what I have actually said is I’d simply like to see whoever runs Arsenal including the current Board show more ambition in terms of investing in the football team. Earlier someone reduced my views to hating the Board – again not true as you have to know someone to hate them. I do hate what they are doing – but that’s because I know what they are doing or at least strongly appear to be doing.
The simple truth is as I said again tonight and have said before I would support the current Board fully if they showed further ambition for the football team than they have been since 2005. After all without the current Board showing that further ambition Arsene Wenger could not have done what he did from 1998-2005 at Arsenal Football Club. The truth is I am not simply against this Board no matter what.
As to your tit thread comment I believe you already have your answer if you look about and seriously its not what you suggested above although that was funny!
Yes I push my views hard, and yes there’s a reason. And that is the reality is none of can be sure that we won’t end up wondering 50 years from now how we haven’t won the League since 2004 sort of like our nastier neighbors. Yes the fact that s***s are simply *word censored* supported by a large number of troglodyte types figures into it a lot. But the point stands if we don’t show more ambition soon who knows if we aren’t looking at another 10, 20, or God Forbid 50 year stay in the wilderness. And given the strong position we’d reached by 2005 to go through a period like that simply because of business decisions trumping football ambition should infuriate any every Gooner who loves Arsenal.
Forget s***s I live a couple of hours from Boston where even now Red Sox fans won’t forgive Harry Frazee for selling Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees in 1918 and blame the Curse of the Bambino on Boston not winning another World Series after that for 86 years. And he was sold purely for profit as well and that profit was sunk into a Broadway musical that flopped.
2004 seems fairly fresh to me still. Time flies like that. So if we don’t fix things soon it will be 15 and 25 and maybe 50 barren years before we know it if we aren’t a bit more ambitious. We’re a big enough club it should never be that long but as I hear all the time nothing guarantees winning trophies. But even bearing that in mind should we be happy to go back to winning the League once every two decades so rich men can get richer when we have seen an ambitious Board can help put together three Premiership titles at least in eight years without bleeding the club dry to do it.
