As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That's assuming we aren't playing L'pool in the Europa league.
I would honestly not give a fuck if we went out tonight, if we didn't have to play in the Europa League.
And I will justify exit from the clge thus.
1. We won't win it anyway
2. It will hit the club financially. This is the only thing the board care about, so maybe Wenger would come under scrutiny. As a lack of trophies doesn't seem to be an issue with his employers.
3. It would bring embarrassment on Wenger and maybe just maybe knock some of the arrogance out of the man. (but i doubt it I'm sure he would find someone or something else to blame)
Wanting the team to lose for the purpose of embarrasing Wenger....I may be annoyed at the guy and his decisions at the moment but to want the team to fail just to raise your agenda at the boss is sad and stupid
And I guess if we do get Barca we'll get knocked out and can focus on retaining our lead at the top of the table
Seeing as a few people have felt annoyed by this post can somebody please tell me where sid said that he wanted to see Arsenal lose ? All I see is somebody saying that they dont care if we lose and imo that is a long way from hoping we will lose. I should also say that I agree 100% with sid as well......if I thought we could win it out then I would be well up for it but imo we havent got a snowballs chance in hell so all that we have to gain now is cash and as far as I am concerned targetting cash is what has us in this mess to begin with
Unlike many of you my preference is always to try and win the league anyway cos as far as I am concerned to be kings of europe you really need to establish yourself as kings of your own country first. This season seems to be another one in which every club seems to be doing their best not to win the league so despite our ineptitude we are still very much in the title race and I fear the longer we stay in the champs league the more our domestic hopes will be weakened

Only 3 of us agree with this as it stands!
My laughs and happy talks we would have if were drinking buddies!
To be fair, I see where you guys are coming from but as I said in an earlier post I think it's unlikely that we will exit the compitition tonight even if we are beaten tonight so all this talk is irrelevant.
It would take a pretty remarkable couple of results for The Arsenal to be knocked out tonight, it betting terms it would mean Braga to win (6/1) and Partizan to win or draw (15/2), that's 59.5/1.
I don't think it'll happen anyway
BTW, all this talk is also giving certain (they know who they are) people on here a stick to beat ye with too
I'd much rather play Schalke at this stage (perhaps Bayern) than Barcelona or Madrid. I understand the 'have to beat the best to be the best' logic but I'd rather see someone else or an underdog perhaps knock out either or both of those two leaving a clearer path to the latter stages.
But before all that I think we should be worrying about getting through first! With this lot you just don't know what to espect!
Braga don't technically have to win though do they.....Just have to better our result. A shock defeat for us & a point for them in Donetsk would see us elimanated.

Has to be Bayern. Class city and my favourite foreign team. Thought they were brilliant last year against the Mancs. Remember Ferguson - "typical Germans"! Love it.
