Evra interview on french tv

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I dont get why some people are brushing these off because there is some truth in it.

Ofcourse there is truth in it but the whole thing lacks class and respect. When you line up to play teams like Wolves you dont pipe up with "these guys are shit relegation fodder - clearly not premier league class", do you? Even thought its true. You respect your opposition.

I dont reserve this for many players but if that *word censored* gets badly injured im going to cheer and cheer and cheer.

Vince wrote:"In my opinion, Arsenal is just an Academy. I watch their games, it's a pleasure to watch, but will they win a title? That's what people remember. In 10 years, nobody will remember of them.

Arsenal is a great Club, they didn't win a trophy for 5 years, it's a crisis in my opinion, it's nonsense. People are always think about the Arsenal way of play. But at the end, there's nothing.

We can lose 13-0 against them, but at the end what happen? nothing. No trophy, no nothing.

Our real rival it's Chelsea. We only watch Chelsea results, not Arsenal, even though Arsenal is a great team, which can win against Chelea, against us, against anybody.

When we play Arsenal, we enjoy it. It's a team who play football, they won't go at Old Trafford to play in their own box.

The difference is that we play good football but we've got physical power as well. Sometimes they don't manage to kill the games, and we are more clinical."
We need Sagna to take the crunt right out on the blind side of the ref....broken tibia is what he deserves.

Sagna - I'm not surprised

To the french press ... "No comment [about Evra]. I'd rather not comment."
Evra said Arsenal is only an Academy, Sagna reply "I'm not surprised by this statement from him.
Patrice likes the provocations .. it's in his nature, I don't care. We just have to stay focused, that we don't start the game pissed off thinking about what he said. We just have to think about playing our football.

If he said it again [Arsenal are kids], maybe he really thinks that. That's not a reason I'll always hate him. We'll just try to show him that an Academy is always useful ... Anyway, I'll never criticize another team. It's a lack of respect."

Wenger - Evra is scared

"They are harsh words, not only with regard to the team but also towards the club, which I will treat with a little disdain,'
said Wenger.

'Respect for others is a sign of class. His comments are surprising, badly-placed, below the belt. And below the belt remarks are always based on fear."

In the Dutch radio, they said van Persie will stick the article on the dressing room's wall.

As someone said in another thread, they responded to the comments but in the wrong way and just gave away cheap fouls, trying to impose themselves on the game.
