whats the best way to get from manchester city center to old trafford, the last time i went i got the football special trains from oxford road station. For a crowd of 70,000 they ran 3 small trains, the first was too full to get on, the second totally jamed with mancs, didn't see many gooners so is there a better way to go? :barscarf: :barscarf:

It is an offence to consume alcohol on the streets around Old Trafford and in Manchester City Centre.This includes drinking from cans and bottles.If you are asked to stop drinking by a Police Officer and refuse then you could be subject to arrest or £80 fixed penalty notice. This also includes unopened cans or bottles if the officer believes you will drink them on the street. Police officers will be enforcing this Bye Law.

Decent boozer is the Piccadilly which is about 500 yards turning right outside of Piccadilly train station. Huge pub with a high volume of gooners drinking there. It's opposite tesco express. Not going unfortunately, too late booking my flight :cry:

Enjoy the piss-up

As ive mentioned before this is my first trip to OT away this weekend and I canna no wait. Im planning to get there for about 1sh and have some drinks round Piccadilly gardens before heading over to the ground but was just wandering what the craic was with wearing colours? The only reason I ask is that I went to citeh away earlier in the season and had some good humoured banter before the game, but after serving them their arses on a plate I got some serious shit after the game from both the police and citeh. I know they’re different clubs but mancs in general always seem to rub me up the wrong way.

The rivalry of Arse / mancs from the early 00’s has subsided quite a bit since our recent trophy drought , but can anyone remember getting into or seeing much bother round OT before or after a game in recent memory?

How hot is Virgin trains on the ticket times? If you missed the 20:35, could you get the 21:00 for example?

You could but they would hammer you for another £70 - £80 full fare.

@gunner ace-

the rivalry with us and the mancs stems from an FA cup game in '88? when united got a dubious last minute penno infront of the NB. McClair (*word censored*) blasted it over and we went menthol.

Also the battle of old trafford in '91 when limpar scored the winner but we got a 2 point deduction after a brawl. Nutty Winterburn got stuck into them, the dirty cnuts 8) :barscarf:

In my experience, the answer is 'No'.

The only year I haven't seen it getting 'pwapa nawty' outside the ground post match was 2002, as they had all gone home by the time we left!
