Nasri and even young Jack Wilshere have been more consistent in their performances this season in my opinion. I’d actually go as far as saying he’s probably no longer our best player and Nasri probably hold that mantle. Ted Baker also mentioned teams who had player who really stands up to be counted and he’s spot on. When it boils down to the really big games Fabregas has never single headedly taken a game and turned it around, the only time I can ever remember him doing it was his sub performance against villa away last season. He also doesn’t have the work rate and passion that Wilshere is showing, and Nasri is a far more threatening player to opposition defences.

Now don’t get me wrong he is a class player. But not a leader and not as good as he’s made out to be. I’d love him to stay but it’s inevitable he’ll be going. Seeing him in the tunnel before the game kinda summed him up really. So I’d say sadly lets cash in for the biggest amount while we can this summer. Nothing worse than seeing him go for we’ll under market value the way Henry did. Id say £40-50mill.
Give some other examples of players single handedly taking a big game and turning it around- Henry v Liverpool 04, Messi v us last year, Beckham v Greece 01 spring to mind but it doesn't happen that often, so it's a strange criticism to make...

I usually respect what you say, but this is a load of rubbish.

Nasri and Jack are nowhere near Cesc's level yet. They are very talented players but I don't think they could run a game like Cesc does. We really miss an inform cesc. He keeps the play moving along and then can spring that one pass over the top and we're through. We really suffer without him.

I really hope we don't get to see what life without Cesc is like for a long time.

I too am a big fan of Cesc, but I do feel he has developed a habit of not turning up for the big games.
Lets see if he plays against utd at the weekend or will Wenger protect him from any fallout from last nights result.

For Arsenal certainly, but it must be difficult with the teams hes had to play in, in the big games. I kind of agree with that point, I was more responding to him saying that he was overrated and Nasri is better.

Rule 1: Never pass the ball towards your own box.
Rule 2: Never pass the ball towards your own box.
Rule 3: Never pass the ball towards your own box. etc, etc, etc.

We were taught that in the Junior School football team!

Also learnt when in doubt give it a clout.

Fab could have so booted it out into touch or swivelled and lumped it upfield if he was unsure, but I guess Arsenal dont do clearances like that anymore.

p.s. Think this thread is a bit harsh though, as its not often cesc is the worst player on the pitch, and just a shame it happened in this game.

On the talking to players in the tunnel thing, I cant see a problem with that, its a continental thing. was it that game against Villa when Nasri and Chichy were giving out moi moi man love kisses to Pires in the tunnel. ha ha thats actually cheered me up slightly thinking about that.

Cesc wasn't fit. Shouldn't have played but who could we replace him with in our paper thin squad?

The hugs and kisses in the tunnel was too much for me. Fuck that. You are captain of Arsenal. Don't kiss ass with the oppo before we go out to play them. Do all that shite after the game. Poor by Cesc.

You dont fucking give kids the armband end of story

Adams was 21 when he got the armband and John Terry is a *word censored*.

Adams to Fabregas no comparison

So what if Terry is a *word censored*? Doesnt mean he isn't a brilliant leader and defender

Fabregas just throws the head down

Jack is definitely a future leader but wouldn't give him the armband. Aren't really any other candidates cause we don't know what TV is going to be like when/if he comes back. A leader is a must in the transfer window, whether its at centre back or defensive midfielder it doesn't matter.

If Cesc leaves I would give it to Nasri.
