He's highly regarded by many, with a lot of clubs looking in on him. He's obviously impressed and we've also had him signed for about 6 months now.

Again, if this is the onyl signing then yes, complain away. But all it is, is confirming something that was done a while ago.
Do you know why it bothers me he has only played 9 times????? Because we need defenders at the top of their game NOW!!!! Not in 5 years time.... NOW NOW FFS

You're getting worked up over nothing. You've quoted me so read what I said. If he was the only defender then yes. But wait to see if he is.

Going on previous seasons im not expecting any big signings and these types of signings will be the only ones like that Chamberlain kid

I'm not expecting that as well, but in my opinion it's too early to be angry with Wenger. Still a long summer to go.

I think it's too late to be angry with Wenger.

6'1 isn't that tall for a defender. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Vermaelen is 6'.

I love how the fact that this new guy is a 6'1 English defender is enough for some people. I fit that criteria but I'm sure you wouldn't want me turning out this season.

If nothing else we can get that clown off the books...
Not in the immediate future, I think he's getting loaned out straight away.

Like everybody else on here I really wish the lad nothing but the best of luck and congratulate him on living the dream (signing for your boyhood club) 8) :barscarf:

That being said, does it not bother you that the 2 deals that we are meant to be working heavily on in recent weeks is this deal and the deal to sign the ox ? Personally I dont see any evidence of a shift in policy away from signing unproven kids and instead buying proven quality players :( Surely the priority is to sign the players you would expect to make the starting team first and then supplement them with signings like these kids ? It might well be early doors but personally I can never see wenger changing his way of working hence the need to remove him from our club asap

The mistake some people seem to have made is assuming that when Wenger said he'd be active in the transfer Market, it finally meant big names. All he said was that we would be busy. That quite probably means that we will sign two or three more one season wonders or kids with potential !!

Augie - i don't think you and I expected anything else pal. Given that he's gone out on a limb on these youngsters time and time again, and given that he's sleptwalked through the last 4 Summers......why did anyone of a sane mind think he would suddenly "see the light".

No change till 2014

The AKBs will still be clinging to their transfer dreams on the 31st August.

The very real, and miserable, prospect for me of not attending a single home game looms larger...

I cant believe a thread about a new signing has turned into another thread slating Wenger, dont we have enough of these already?

I'm by no means in the AKB but to get on the kids back because he isn't what you wanted to see in the transfer window is way OTT. Its the 8th June for christs sake, if it was the 1st Sept I'd understand but this early on??? Its also in the news section in the reserves section of the official website which suggests to me he isnt going to be thrown in with the first team straigth away.

Personally I'd like to welcome Carl Jenkinson to the club. As a Gooner I hope he proves all his doubters wrong and becomes a stable part of the first team for years to come. Good Luck :barscarf:

Fuck me, lets all have a go at Wenger because he is bolstered a position in our squad that needed strengthening. 6ft1 is tall for a right back, he clearly has bags of potential and is not one for right now but will be a decent back up player.

There is a long long time left in this transfer window yet, get on his back at the end if we aint made any massive signings, not with this long to go. The majority of players are on there holidays so nothing will begin to happen until around July time you would have thought

Augie as I said, this deal was done ages ago. He's been listed as our player on the Finnish FA site for 2 months. This is not Wenger being active, its us confirming a signing.

Let's just see. Brady has come out and said he expects signings and Wenger to really spend, so lets wait. Patience,
