For all the people who have appointed themselves judge, jury and executioner based on what they think the dead man must have been like, read this.

It is exactly what Northbankbren posted about.

It is no definitive proof in itself, and maybe turn out to be incorrect if a further investigation happens.
But at this stage there remains reasonable doubt as to how and why Mark Duggan was killed.
If he did fire at police, then his death was near inevitable.
But there is now doubt if he did fire at all.
Meanwhile Enfield and Brixton have disturbances.

7.35pm: Initial ballistics tests on the bullet that lodged in a police officer's radio when Mark Duggan died on Thursday night show it was a police issue bullet, the Guardian understands.

The Guardian's crime correspondent, Sandra Laville, reports:

The revelation will fuel the fury in Tottenham about the killing of Mark Duggan by armed officers.

It also undermines suggestions that there was an exchange of fire between Duggan and the police before he died.

The bullet which was found lodged in the radio of one of the officers at the scene is still undergoing forensic tests. But reliable sources have said the first ballistics examinations suggested it was a police issue bullet.

These are very distinct as the Metropolitan Police uses dum dum type hollowed out bullets designed not to pass through an object.

The early suggestion from the IPCC was that the Met officers had returned fire after someone in the minicab opened fire. But the result of the ballistics early test suggests both shots fired came from the police.

One fact is clear.......... he had a gun!

If you have a gun illegally you can expect to be shot at by the police!

But that's the point, it is not clear any more.

I initially thought it was the certainty about this case, and I posted that if he had shot at the police he was obviously going to get shot back.

And civilians in the UK who carry guns are usually villains, and up to no good.

But there is now serious doubt as to whether he even had a gun, as the gun found at the scene is now reported as being in a sock and not loaded and belonging to some one else.

Considering what happened with previous shootings of civilians, just go to wait and see what happens in the report into the shooting.

Meanwhile idiot youths are rampaging in Enfield, have looted HMV, ToysRUS and Comet and supposedly burned down Nandos!

Praise the lord, Nandos isn't burn to the ground    Apparently they've set on fire to the cinema too.

Comet, HMV, Jewellers, Pharmacy, Sainsburys all been damaged and looted. They are mainly youths and have no connection to Mark Duggan. They are simply *word censored*.

I'm with Quartz on the main story though, I have a feeling about the details being hazy and judgement should be reserved until its all clear. When the story first broke, I thought to myself it was a little weird that the IPCC got involved so quickly.

Nandos is supposed to have been robbed but is still standing.
Could not understand why anyone would want to burn it down anyway!

Tescos got robbed too.

But anything else is unclear, just following it on Twitter #enfield
