Out of touch

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I dont buy all this "it is all Wenger's fault"

what about the players. can't some of them accept responsibility any more?

also even IF a new manager comes in we are still at the Emirates. There is no going back to Highbury so all the corporate shit, and the merchandising will continue whoever is in charge. lets face it the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge is similar to the Emirates if not worse, and I can't see it changing anytime soon

Agree with Frank on this. As a manager you are only as good as your worst member of staff.

surely you guys specifically come on here because there is a majority view...?
and that view is very different from the norm amongst Arsenal fans (doesn't make it right/wrong, more or less relevant)

seems to me the central claim of the thread is pretty uncontroversial
you guys simply are "out of touch" with the majority of Arsenal fans in that your views are different...

The only person who is out of touch is Arsene. He needs to accept that his former blueprint to achieve success is now obselete.

Football has evolved (not necessarily in a good way) and we have been left far, far behind.

You trust Arsene to make any move in Jan? Let alone the right moves ?

Wenger's signings this season
Mertesacker - very pleased, didn't want Dann, Cahill or Samba
Arteta - has been excellent, experienced player steadied the ship
Ox/Benayoun - surprised how little game time they've got but liked what I've seen
Park - bizarre signing. 2 year contract + 6 month bedding in. Somethings gone badly wrong there

so a mixed bunch

Wenger's record in the transfer market is generally excellent, all managers make their mistakes but yes I have faith in him to buy well.

He should have made those transfer deadline signings earlier not as a knee jerk after the Old Trafford result. You may have faith in him and I respect that, however I do not.

earlier he wanted Jones
earlier he wanted Mata

it's not easy to just get what you want in this market...

Another example of Arsene trying to use his outdated philosphies in the current situation.

I don't understand what your trying to say here
which 'outdated philosophies' ?
other clubs who weren't in for the players (ManUre wanted to wait and see how Jones did this season in the Prem, Chavksi had expressed zero interest in Mata) got wind of our bids and gazumped us

there's nothing philosophical about being outbid

There's also nothing philosophical in Wenger's stop gaps signings... He does everything on the cheap, any vision he had has now gone, he's a busted flush and the sooner he fucks off the better the club will be. He is turning us into a laughing stock with these signings like Campbell, Lehmann and now the over the hill Henry... He should fuck off to his French project at PSG...
