Yep, he plays every week, right?SteveO 35 wrote:Listen to yourselves ! Is there a player (other than possibly Bendtner) at the football club who loves himself more than Frimpong.
Yeah and its clearly a much better policy selling dross like Diarra, a player who has gone on to establish himself at one of the world's elite clubs, and over reward and promote a self-hyped "hardman" like Frimpong that will never be fit to lace his boots

he didn't say he plays every week mate..so what's your point?benlaimwolf wrote:Yep, he plays every week, right?SteveO 35 wrote:Listen to yourselves ! Is there a player (other than possibly Bendtner) at the football club who loves himself more than Frimpong.

The guy has made himself an integral part of real madrid's team, playing 17 games this season. so, ergo, wenger's a stupid *word censored* for letting him go in 2008, thereby going some way to scuppering our title hope in that season.

Well exactly. A guy who has proved himself as an important part of Madrid's squad under one of the best managers in world football (someone who might have earned the right to love themself a little bit) or Mr Deeeeeeeench, a self acclaimed 'walking brand' that's done what exactly - played a handful of games, got sent off in one, was virtually anonymous in his last one against Villa and played like a cock at the Lane yesterday.arseofacrow wrote:he didn't say he plays every week mate..so what's your point?benlaimwolf wrote:Yep, he plays every week, right?SteveO 35 wrote:Listen to yourselves ! There's no WUMing involved here. Frimpong is a promising kid - no more, no less - but to see the way he conducts himself and how he has fans licking his arse on Twitter is worrying. None of our other young players are like it (as I say probably except Bendtner who is a total dick also)
There's a bit of a difference between young guys having some banter - as was obviously the case with Chesney and Ramsey - and someone who invites people to tweet about what a fucking hero they are every day.
Any Gooner claiming they would prefer to have Frimpong over Diarra clearly believes in the youth project more than a policy of attracting and retaining international class players
Frimpong is a cracking young player. I have no idea what the hell is wrong with you people but I think his passion desire is something to be admired. Our success has been built on aggression I don't remember people slagging off the likes of Keown when he was giving it to Van Nistelroy or Vieira getting sent off every other game. We need fighters to compliment the technicians.
Frimpong might be raw but I’m confident he can be moulded into something special.

Lots of "he's young so he'll only get better" comments but in reality lots of players actually peak in their late teens/early twenties then fade away into obscurity in the lower divisions. I hope to be proved wrong but I predict this road for Frimpong.
Seems far too interested in fame rather than success and I really don't understand how or why he tries to promote himself as some sort of hardman. I'm yet to see anything other than a couple of standard tackles by him and a stupid red card v Liverpool.

That's my point. The reason he seems so popular is because he goes round talking himself up and playing Billy Bigbollocks on Twitter. The fact of the matter is that he is currently 3rd choice holding midfielder behind Song and Coquelin (who is a far more mature player). Once he's seen off the challenge of those two and established himself in the first team, he might be entitled to a bit of hype. Until then he's just another Vela - someone who had the fans raving after half a dozen games and then packed off on loanhugh jardon wrote:Lots of "he's young so he'll only get better" comments but in reality lots of players actually peak in their late teens/early twenties then fade away into obscurity in the lower divisions. I like his rawness. And also has a real good work rate, hates losing the ball and always tracks back after mistakes.
Time will tell.
Never heard that one... Time......Tell. Who is Time?
