In order;

1. CL final 06. Simply the best away day ever. All my mates, on the piss, great laugh with the Whore fans and the French riot cops, great piss up, the singing on the train out to St Dennis. The whole day. And it was The Dennis' swansong so we were deffo going to win it. And then that German arsehole has the usual rush of blood to his empty head and Bergkamp can't even come on and Pires is off. And then the moment of hope at one nil to the Arsenal and then the fucking equaliser and I just knew we had fucked it and THBW14 bottling 2 sitters and then the Whores go 2-1 up and I just felt like puking. Worst feeling ever.

2. FA Cup semi against the scum in 91. Total sickener. Again a lovely day ruined by the scum. Also, I had myself convinced we were going to win the Double that year and to have it snatched away by the scum was fucking terrible. Wankers.

3. the 3-2 turn around at home against the scum. Had a great piss up in the Gunners, a great laugh, 2 nil up at half time, we're showboating, treating it like a training session and then we just went to shit and they did us in the second half. Fucking puke inducing.

4. the cheating diving granny raper and his wankfest of arsehole teammates robbing us of the 50. The ref should have been burned alive after that game.

5. the 8-2 humiliation at old shatford. The look of frozen indecision and lack of a plan B on Wenger's face that day encapsulates the last 7 years of his management perfectly for me. When I saw our team that day I knew we'd get beaten, I just didn't know we were in for a prison style gang raping. And the sight of our players laughing and joking with the manure wankers afterwards? A real low for Arsenal.

It was not so bad as I got my ticket from a Tarquin for nothing on the day. I also blagged a Eurostar seat and found a nice little hotel room with shower, TV and mini bar for 60 euros, brekkie included. I also got a nice little t.shirt on my seat upon arrival. Just a shame that there were no programmes for sale, as bastards were marching off with boxes of them to put on sale on e-bay.
someone gave you a free ticket and you call them a 'tarquin'?
what does that even mean?
... sounds a little churlish to me

didn't he somehow get MOTM?
maybe I misremembered, think Gerrard said after the game he had learnt Vieira was much better than him
Henchoz was brilliant in goal for them that day. I was gutted but at least proud of the team.
Almost felt worse in '05 when we deserved nothing, snuck out embarrased after Paddy lifted the cup, stayed to the very end v Liverpool and cheered the boys off

Zaragoza was probably the worst but did at least have a great night out. I was supposed to go home the next day but just moped around Paris for days hardly talking. Went home and celebrated a Wrighty consolation goal in the Shed which was essentially a 'cry for help' style suicide attempt.

Was at pretty much all the 90s and noughties games mentioned but the one I missed - Galatasaray really hurt me
put a whole student loan on us to win in when we got knocked out of the CL... think I got nearly 10-1

2006 CL Final hurt bad. Don't think it would of been SO bad if we'd ever got there before but we hadn't and because there was so much on that game - last season at Highbury, Dennis' swansong and its just like...this is going to be OUR day and it wasn't. I would of put my house on Henry scoring that sitter and when he didn't it was like....it can't end this way but it did :'(

5-1 loss to Spurs hurt me A LOT as my old man never let me forget it for the rest of the season  if we had beat Spurs, Eddie wouldn't of broke his leg as the CC final was the day after he done it so shit fucked up in more ways than one that year.

Losing our ''50th'' game to a bunch of cheats.

The CC final last year because it felt as if we was going to win something at least but we didn't deserve it.

8-2 to united because it demonstrated how far we had fallen.

My main feelings after the 8-2 v ManUre were
1- pride in our away support, we outsung them for the full 90
2- thank fek we beat Udinese
3- damn I'm hungover

There was a CL KO v Valencia I remember particularly gutting me,
Carew I think...

Yeah, lost on away goals after he scored in the 2nd Leg : I think that was one of our best chances to win it ; Would have been Leeds in the semi final too.

My worst ever were '99 FA Cup semi final replay ; I needed 3 years to get over that (til we beat Chelsea in '02), and '06 in Paris v Barca, even though it is still the best away trip ever. I am still not over that defeat, and what increases the pain is the knowledge we are further away from that trophy than we have been for 15 years.

thanks Cook - yeah that one,
think maybe I felt it was effectively the end of the line for our famous back 5
and therefore probably our best chance of winning it gone

On the contrary. I was very grateful for being given the ticket. I even made two deliveries, free of charge, to Manchester and Bournemouth to show my appreciation.
In context, his family are very wealthy and they are Man Utd supporters, who also have four season tickets at Arsenal. They are more like glory seekers than ardent supporters. They attend all major trophy finals - in all sports, around Europe.
They sit, eat their sandwiches and are not vociferous in their support. They also always leave fifteen minutes before the end of home games.
I had actually offered £1200 for a ticket to his father.
Tarquin = wealthy, un-interested glory seekers, imho. :barscarf:

Do you mean Dudek? Stephane Henchoz and Sami Hyypia were their CB's at the time.

Or maybe pre Dudek, so would have been Sander Westerveld? Can't be arsed to google.

I barely remember that game in fairness, just storming off when Owen scored, turning the TV off and crying in my room
