Re: TH14 BACK IN JAN ,, YES OR NO
Chances of him adding to those really? I mean the Leeds goal last year was a special moment but at the end of the day meaningless and it wouldn't be the same buzz this time. Plus he's a year older. Cliff Bastin was a great goalscorer but I'm not advocating digging up his corpse to partner Chamakh in the FA Cup 3rd round.

Well if we judged our prospective signings on whether or not they would be better than a useless, vapid waste of space with a birdbrain... we wouldn't have signed Park in the first place!North-Bank-1987 wrote:Probably do a better job than parknorthbank123 wrote:Chances of him adding to those really? Bet you the North Koreans are rubbing their hands with glee that somebody like him will still have to do military service - I can only imagine him trying to hit the proverbial barn door with a machine gun.

Re: TH14 BACK IN JAN ,, YES OR NO
I voted yes.
Hopefully we will be rid of Cham, Park, Arshavin in January and will give us another option for 6-8 weeks. His influence around the dressing room was positive last time, if what I read is true.
Although I would not like to see him signing at the expense of us signing some quality e.g. Lopez, Huntelaar.

Given our obvious lack of strength in depth up front it's an absolute disgrace if we don't go in for Llorente or preferably Huntelaar. Both have 6 months left on their contract, both would be great additions and we can't even trot out the normal bollocks about inflated prices because they're both available at well under market rate and would both definitely come with them likely not to be of interest to the real big boys.
If Spurs or someone else in the PL sign Huntelaar I'll be sick. I bet we'll miss out because instead of looking at a player we desperately need at a bargain Wenger and the board will think why should we spend under £10m when we can get him for free in the summer? Whilst he fucks off elsewhere in Jan.

I agree Huntelaar would be a very good signing. He looked like a predator playing us recently, I was worried everytime he touched the ball in both games, hes the type of striker that only needs a chance or 2 to score, plus I think I read somewhere that he don't like Vanstapleface, what better motivation eh?northbank123 wrote:Given our obvious lack of strength in depth up front it's an absolute disgrace if we don't go in for Llorente or preferably Huntelaar. I voted no, I didn't want him back last year and I don't want him back now. It's just an excuse for manager and board to use sticking plaster over a gaping wound. Now we really do have money there's no excuse not to spend it.
Re: TH14 BACK IN JAN ,, YES OR NO
Now don't be greedy - anyway how is Huntelaar going to get a game ahead of Charlie Austin and wouldn't signing him 'kill' Joel Campbell when he comes back next seasonnorthbank123 wrote:Given our obvious lack of strength in depth up front it's an absolute disgrace if we don't go in for Llorente or preferably Huntelaar. Blowing my own trumpet a bit here, but also (honestly!) stating why I want Henry back on loan.

Quartz Gooner :Thierry Henry's return
Hi Myles,
I am keen that Thierry Henry should sign on loan for Arsenal in January 2013.
Not instead of another striker purchase, which is required, but as an option off the bench.
- He is already training with the club
- His loan spell last season was a success.
- He has looked very sharp this season in the USA, good goals and passes, even if that league is equivalent to League One in standard. His pace is diminished, but his passing accuracy and "football brain" remain.
- Gervinho will be absent at the African Cup of Nations.
- Youngsters like Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gnabry can pickup some good tips from an experienced professional.
Myles says:
You've got a nerve, Quartz, sending this letter to me.
I'll give you 9/10 for for audacity.

Problem is Quartz even if you think he can do a job the likelihood is his signing will be instead of a full-time replacement and just cover for Gervinho. In which case you'd be hard-pressed to find an inferior replacement.
It's all fine and well saying I don't mind as long as we sign somebody else too but imo that ain't going to happen, unless we're 6+ points off 4th place.

Re: TH14 BACK IN JAN ,, YES OR NO
We all know if THBW14 does come back again it will be INSTEAD of signing a top striker.
Last season he only looked ok in the cup against very lesser opposition, in the PL he looked waaaaay off the pace. And now he is a year older and a year slower. A well-past-it Henry to lead the line, huh?
Dear God, how we have fallen...

Re: TH14 BACK IN JAN ,, YES OR NO
Walcott sold, TH14 on loan for seven weeks (two of them to get match fit), plenty of money stashed in the bank, and the splendid choice when he goes back to the States of either Le Chapman or The Forehead to steer us towards the Virtual Trophy
I do love our transfer windows. Just turn the TV off for for a month and put it back on again on 1st Feb. If we spend £18m or so on Zaha, I'll be even more depressed

I totally agree with every word here, I still remember Henry's last season (before he went to Barca), it'll just be a stop gap cheap measure (yet again)tel wrote:I voted no, I didn't want him back last year and I don't want him back now. It's all about the money....and unfortunately the club/Wenger have found another button to press with some of the mugs who show up at the Emirates.DB10GOONER wrote:We all know if THBW14 does come back again it will be INSTEAD of signing a top striker.![]()

Great player, one of the best, but he's history - not a sideshow to be wheeled out for a month to take the heat off the club, and provide cover for a certified

Jesus, if he comes back again I think I'll kill someone.
