di matteo's defeats include the charity shield and euro super cup, and also bear in mind wenger was knocked out of the FA cup by the time RDM was hired. taking those 2 defeats out his win rate was 60% in 8 more matches

Can we keep this thread to being about Di Matteo rather than Wenger. There shouldn't even be a comparison between how many managers they have had and what they've won against what we have done in the meantime.
The Chavs have acted like the classless wankers they really are in this situation. They fired Mourinho and Ancelotti who delivered domestic success but didn't win the CL. Now they've got a bloke who in a few months won them the CL and the FA Cup.
They are 4 points off the lead with a home game against City at the weekend i.e. an immediate opportunity to cut the gap to a single fucking point. They aren't even out of the CL yet - home to the whipping boys from Denmark with a guaranteed 3 points, and Juve still to travel to a team with a formidable home record who can't afford to take their foot off the gas for fear of finishing second in the group. Its possible they could then by through in 2nd place with a game against someone like Malaga
What they have done is fucking ridiculous and one of the reasons why they will ever gain the respect of the media and the public at large. It is possible to be successful and do it with a bit of class
Di Matteo is the luckiest man on the planet. I know people will say "make your own luck" but they were ripped apart for 3/4 of the Napoli game, clueless for the second half of Benfica and although arguably tactically correct still hammered in their last 3 games. Think he's done the right thing in walking away with his head held high and a phenomenal double achievement rather than let his lack of ability shine through over a longer period and have his reputation tarnished.
I personally wouldn't have him at Arsenal, still very naive and a bit clueless to me.

I could live like this with Usmanov in charge after all Chelski win things , we don't !
Disagree...! The interference of Abramovitch is actually holding Chelsea back! Who honestly believes that keeping Mourinho as Manager wouldn't have earned them a shed load more trophies than they have won since he was sacked?
Even the appointment of Di Matteo was a joke. Did he really deserve such credit for Chelsea winning two trophies when he had only been in charge for a few months - and with John Terry probably having more influence over team selection!!
I'd love to see Usmanov coming onto the board, and his money coming into the club, but if it meant that we became his personal toy and changed Manager every season then forget it!
do we know it was his managerial performance that is the reason behind this? seems a mid season firing like this usually occurs after getting caught with the bosses daughter..or wife....or maybe both?

Di Matteo is not the luckiest man on the planet.Thats a manager who doesnt deliver, who doesnt have to fear the sack and who will get another 4 year contract next year with wages of £7m plus a year.Thats lucky
Di Matteo can always say he won the CL in his first season while our clown has got to one final in 16 years. But DiMatteo has never won the 4th place trophy has he?
