Fergie to retire

Re: Fergie to retire

I am actually going to miss him when he goes

I was 3 when he took over at utd so he's been a part of football since I've been old enough to know what a football is!

No one can deny he is entertaining and i always wanted us to actually be good again so that he would ago saying nice things about us and the old rivaly would heat up again!

Can't say I like the man but I definitely respect his achievements and desire to stay at the top for so long, I doubt his managerial record will be beaten for a very long time! If ever .

Apparently if Moyes goes Wenger will be the longest-serving manager of the 92 clubs by some 10 years

And ahead of Pulis, who may also be out of employment like the rest of his friends and family from Newport.

Not trawled through the last 5 pages so apologies if I say anything that coincides with what someobody else has said.

Moyes (if it is to be him) has done an ok job with Everton, getting them top 6 on a couple of occasions was about the limit that could be expected from him with their resources - but he has also had a couple of bad seasons where they were in trouble till late in the season.

He has not won a trophy with Everton, has had very little European experience and who was the manager of Everton when we beat them 7-0 at Highbury and 6-1 away at Goodison ?? Good old David Moyes, so with out war chest spent in the summer we can finally get revenge for the 8-2 :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

I'd imagine it's the usual Wednesday night. Drinks and nibbles with Howard Webb.

Alex Ferguson is a remarkable manager. Happy to have had the honor to play against him.
Respect.

Surely Moyes going there would only hasten the exit given his lesser reputation and obviously the personal problems between the two. It will take a masked mob twice as big to threaten him at his home to make him U-turn this time!

Rooney is obviously a very good player but he's not in the top bracket and not the sort of player that every top club will be desperate to sign just because he may be available. Not good enough for Barca or Madrid (certainly not at the money that United would demand) and I don't reckon even Citeh would have him anymore - I guess PSG is the easy/obvious suggestion if he would want to go there.

Media convinced it is Moyes, but someone I know who works in football says it is Mourinho, deal was done over a month ago.

I know that reads really badly on a Forum, but this bloke is not given to coming up with loads of rumours of In The Know stuff, he is just convinced it is Mourinho and seeing as I do not work in football it is interesting to me that the the talk in his circles is about Mourinho.

We shall see :D

Com on now, Moyes taking over is as good as confirmed and I for one couldn't be happier. Their dominance will finally end.
