Spurs qualifying game is very funny with a double twist connected to us....
1 team only go straight into the groups which is highest coefficient and was Spurs ( 69) .... until Valencia f*ked up on last day of spanish season so we had the double whammy of Zenit moving into our seeded teams thus us benefiting from avoiding them and Valencia then dropped into Europa as top coefficient (101) which pushed spurs into the qualifying round.
It doesn't matter what you win or where you finish, once you qualify for any tournament for whatever reason then you are judged on your coefficent as to which stage you join

That's not accurate. If it was done purely on co-efficients as you suggest then how are Wigan (16.6) straight into the group stages whereas Spurs (69.6) have to play in the preliminary play-off round? Because the FA decided to allocate their berth in the group stage to the FA Cup winners and the berth in the play-off round to the league qualifiers.
Likewise there are teams entering the First Round of qualifying with co-efficients more than triple that of teams who enter in the Third Round. If it was done purely on co-efficient then we'd be straight into the group stages of the CL - but we're not because the FA logically decide that the 4th placed team will be the one that takes the play-off round berth.
The co-efficient merely determines if/how you'll be seeded.
And Spurs would have played a qualifier regardless. Valencia have gone into the group stage directly because Spain has one berth there and they are the top qualifiers (having finished 5th with both domestic cup final participants having qualified for CL) - would have been no different with Sociedad surely?
thats what happens when you surf the net at 1 am and are tired from dreaming of all those signings that will send our coefficent rising and group qualification next year ....yawn yawn

I've been trying to keep my mind from all these potential signings and the cynicism that tells me they're not going to materialise by getting really into the Lions tour and watching a fair bit of the cricket amongst other things. But I keep bumping into people that are asking me if I think we'll sign Higuain etc and it's driving me mental.

According to wiki, the vermin will join the Europa League at the play-off stage with the second leg played on 29'th August. Can we take it from this that our home game will be moved to the Sunday with an early kick off, or is there a chance that it will be 5.30 on the Saturday?
I wouldn't mind booking flights etc. Cheers
EDIT: Just noticed that there are internationals scheduled for Friday 6'th September. Do you think this might have a bearing on the time and date?
No way police would have a 5.30 Saturday kick-off. Besides that given that teams involved in Europa League have their games moved to Sunday as standard I think you're safe to bank on it being Sunday.

Cheers NB. I thought as much but I'm a tight git, I don't like giving Ryanair a cent more than necessary

Unless...I wonder if The Arsenal have ever thought of opening up a creche...mmmm
