Re: Lukas Podolski
"Who the fucking hell are you?"
Or maybe let small time wankers like Stoke, Wolves and Villa stick to that

Re: Lukas Podolski
I personally like Podolski but would warn against people turning him into the messiah. His most effective performances for us have generally been as a second half substitute, since he came to the club he hasn't looked fit enough to contribute for 90 minutes which is a bit shocking when you think about it. Ask yourselves just how much use he would have been in that first half against Southampton? Worse then Giroud would be my guess. People talk about him being played out of position but frankly he has had a few opportunities in the middle and been shit. Every decent performance Podolski has had for us he's been working off the left wing.

Re: Lukas Podolski
He can't play as a lone striker, whatever his limitations Giroud is much better in the role. And I agree that we should be careful how much we talk Podolski up. As much as everyone wanted him to be the way he played when Giroud was suspended at the back end of last season showed that he is far from the solution to our striker problems.LDB wrote:I personally like Podolski but would warn against people turning him into the messiah. But he has never been given a chance as a second striker and although obviously a completely different sort of player has never been given anything like the freedom that Wilshere/Ozil/Cazorla have had to drift infield and abandon post when they're playing on the left - with the possible exception of some substitute appearances.
Re: Lukas Podolski
you have to remember that the back end of last season when he was playing up top he was carrying an injury,im not saying that he can play the lone striker role but its not fair to judge him when hes not been 100%.one thing I will say though is that I wish some of the chances that giroud has squandered if only theyd landed at Pods feetnorthbank123 wrote:He can't play as a lone striker, whatever his limitations Giroud is much better in the role. Re: Lukas Podolski
The Pod knows where the goal is. He won't die wondering if he should have had a shot. I agree he's had fitness issues, but what he adds to our attack is more definite threat. Of course he's more effective playing on the left. So play him on the left.

Re: Lukas Podolski
Play him behind giroud ,getting on to knockdowns from giroud ,or giroud holding the ball up and laying it off to him for him to shoot.

Re: Lukas Podolski
He got no gametime v chelsea despite us needing a goal and got 6 mins or so v Saints. despite Wenker publically declaring he was our most clinical finisher only recently.

This a million times, why won't he(AW) make it happen

Re: Lukas Podolski
The man loves this club since he was a kid, so much he wanted to make a crest tatoo, proper striker, can finish from outside the box and now Wenker turned him into a benchwarmer.
He'll be gone after World Cup. (unless we are in luck and Wenker f*** off)
And who would blame him? I would go too.

Re: Lukas Podolski
I don't understand what Pod has to do to get a game,we were crying out for him to come on tonight,if one chance fell to anyone youd want it to be Pod especially against Utd,ffs Giroud has reverted back to type,if Pod was French hed start every game,Wenker please leave
