I've got a well dodgy feelin' about this one...and unless we win the FA Cup...that could be our season over!  :banghead:

It seems plenty of fans do not think this competition has any importance, which i dont understand. The fact is we have won nothing since 2005, so we have to get that monkey off our backs. It seems funny how so many fans get pissed off when the players we have flop in big games, yet if those same players were to win a cup, it will create an atmosphere of winning in the dressing room, and make us more competitive.

Sounds like some pyschological impact on the players, having taken part in a winning cup run. Unfortunately, half of them won't play in the competition (or in the final ala Brum and see how that turned out). So, does it still count if half of them don't play in the competition - and what impact does it have if certain players play all the way through and then get dropped for the final? I don't think Flamini ever forgot that experience.

I guess it's a bit more complex and would overall be more worthwhile to win the FA Cup, as the league cup appears to be more of a training exercise for reserve, up and coming or potential.

And Bendtner

I agree - We desperately need to win a trophy - I mean a Proper one - NOT the E*****es load of nonsense.

Gawd these were the days!

I remember getting sooooo drunk on such occasions...It was like floating on a cloud for weeks when we won the Prem or the FA Cup ...and Doubles!!!??/ Well then it was Doubles All Day All Round!

I used to be one of those people - in my defence that was back in the day when our aspirations were a bit higher and it was a great way to blood younger players like cesc, rvp etc.

Maybe I am wrong but I dont see the point in "resting" senior players but still including them in the squad - they will still be travelling up there, doing the excercises, warm ups etc so any rest is surely mimimal :? Why not leave all bar a couple of them at home altogether ?

Oh he will don't worry, as certain as Giroud will miss some games between now and Christmas leaving us with The King of Denmark up front

We'll then hear about 'special circumstances' even though all of us ignorant halfwits that have not worked 'a single day' in football could see that we were entering the new season with only 2 fit centre backs and 1 striker

I swear there are times when I wake up from a heavy sleep, not often but it happens, and I have a false memory that we won something in the past 5 or so years. I swear this is true but then when I wake up I realize that I must have been mistaken with Chelseas' prem win in 2009.

It felt so vivid and real.

this competition is important BUT with our threadbare squad Id prefer us to save ourselves for the EPL,CL and FA CUP to be honest,if AW put a full strength team out tonight we'd probably win but be knackered for Saturday and next week against Napoli, rest is key at the moment for our first 11,if we go out tonight then so be it :?
