International sheeeeeet Oct 11th/15th

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Poldi wrote:luckily, it didn't look that bad, actually. Would be very surprised if it was a serious injury. But still, you cannot know for sure and it might have an effect on his current form

Keep him with the German medical team till Friday afternoon and he'll be fine, our lot get anywhere near him and he'll be out for a year.

Just seen Rambo's scored yet again in a 1-1 draw away to Belgium, so at least he's kept his good form going. Long may it continue.

The result caused a large scale fight between Harry redknapp, Jamie, graham Taylor, hoddle and the rest of the hasbeens over who gets to talk dross for a month in June.

After the ruckus 'Arry was quoted as saying ' an all expenses paid month in Brazil for talking out of me arse...Triffic."

Noel King must be given the Ireland job immediately...he has proved his critics wrong with a super win against the might of Kazakhstan . How dare two of Ireland's most gifted players ever question him, A stupid penalty, an even more stupid goalkeeping mistake and an OG required to beat a fifth grade team. I cannot see how the future is bright for Ireland football as King alluded to. The new manager must make Ireland competitive and solid, but we are miles behind in terms of quality,

So, all the nonsense is over :barscarf:

In a side note:

I was in a brauhaus in Cologne on Friday afternoon with a client of mine. There were some German groups and some Irish groups. This German guy from a group of 4 Germans began "If you all hate England clap your hands". None of the other groups joined in and this guy was given a severe warning by the one of the waiters.

Shows we can all get shitfaced without this nonsense.

Now, has anyone seen my phone?

 :banghead:

The same old, same old story of the England national team. Three games ago a boring sterile draw in Ukraine....Hodgson's too dreary, playing defensive methodical football. Two home wins later and we're now doing "what we're good at", some bookies have cut us from 25/1 to 16/1 and its top man Woy

The truth of the matter is we're a few games into the season, players are fresh and practically all of our top picks were available......and we just beat a nation with a population of 700k and a Poland side with 2 players of note

When we suffer 3 or 4 injuries and limp our way into the World Cup looking knackered we'll be home before the Quarter Finals demanding a 'root and branch' review of our coaching system and a change of manager (must be due a foreign manager by then as that will be the demand of the day)

Assuming the odds are for winning the world cup its really no surprise that our odds have been cut quite a bit. After all, 3 games ago we weren't even guaranteed to qualify, now we're there so of course the odds of winning it will change to reflect that. Plus they're not exactly saying they think we can win it, they'll also be cutting odds due to money going on it - people see us qualify and have a daft bet on us winning, bookies cut the odds in response, happens with every market - if Arsenal sacked Wenger tomorrow and (after plenty on here having a party) we all stuck a grand on Glenn Helder being the next manager his odds would be cut and he'd be made one of the favourites, it wouldn't mean they actually think he'd get the job, it would just reflect the money staked on it.

Well goonersid &sons turf accountants to the homeless and impoverished, are offering Ingerland at odds of 1000,000-1 to win the world cup, with a minimum stake of £1000,000 which must be paid up front.
Please note these odds are only available to people actually born in England.

Didn't watch any of the international break and only just seen Tuesday's results but I see that the absolute dinosaur Coleman has pulled a Wenger and pulled a few decent results out when he was under the cosh to do the bare minimum and keep his kob.
