As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

My argument is that the protest was what the BSM normally conduct with their loud and crude chants. Although, I've got to admit I did join for 10 minutes, it is NOT what's going to get the Board's attention. Like what Super Rob said above, we've got to hit them where it hurts and that's their brand. We've got to do something distinctive and unique during one of the Category A games, probably a pitch invasion or a super banner that encompasses all of the North Bank/Clock End to get the attention of the broadcasters first. The TV broadcasters are everything as it allows us to convey our message beyond the spectrum of the fans at the Ground but worldwide.
Hopefully, and admittedly a dream, once we've hurt the 'brand' enough then the Club would have to come to the fans and set up an official Arsenal fan body where we can have a direct influence on the board with veto powers and conducting club policy as without the fans' money then they'd probably fold over within the decade with the ever-increasing player wages.
I fully respect the BSM but they're methods are not helping our actual cause. The media, newspapers and pundits, are so anti- Arsenal there's no point in going that direction.
Yet ANOTHER fan's group? Surely that is exactly what we DON'T need to dilute the fan base even further. Get involved in the AST, go to all the meetings, take your own ideas and you will soon get noticed and taken seriously. The AST is made up of the people who care enough to get off their own arses and try to make a difference, however difficult that may be, and I for one salute them for trying their hardest - they have plenty of critics, but most of those critics are loudmouth gobshite malcontents on the internet - get down there and get involved.
If you can't or don't want to get involved, then just let them get on with it - too many divisions in the fanbase is having a massive negative affect.
Exactly
I don't think i was clear enough but I want one official, centralised fan group that would have direct access to the board. It'd be something similar to Barca with their presidential elections.
Similar to a general election I want people to be elected by Arsenal fans , lets say from August till the end of September, during match days or online via memberships and these elected represantives would be paid a decent, part time wage and allowances to attend matches, meetings and consultations with fans. This would deter 'career opportunists' and hopefully get real Gooners to represent us.
We could have our very own Online Gooner representative
Comparing Arsenal's ownership to Barcelona's is not realistic, as our club is owned by a couple of individuals, but Barca is owned by the fans (is that the correct phrase?), hence the elections and those quotes of 'I will sign X for Barca if elected' from a few years ago.
The AST do have access to the board, and realistically, that is as good as it is gonna get.
The idea of having one centralised fans group covering all bases is the promised land, but unfortunately AISA is not fit for purpose and has been left impotent by the actions of the other more active groups formed in the past 5 to 10 years.
The problem with casting votes as you say is that it opens it up to the misinformed - If Tim Payton was put up for the role now, there are a load of people who dislike him for so many reasons (some on a personal level), and would deliberately not vote for him despite the fact he is clearly the best man for the job.

Isnt it possible to have a more cohesive voice, all surely just about are against the 3% rise, and surely find it hard to justify a pay rise for an up till now 9 season trophyless manager?

Why is he the best man of the job?
What do people dislike about him?
Hi Tim. Welcome to the forum.
I ain't TIM!!!
All I know about Tim is he's head of AST and he was called out on that viral video.
I'm just asking honest questions on why people dislike him and why he's the BEST according to TheCook
Because Tim Payton works in Sports media / communication for a living, (with the ECB I believe) so he understands the way it all works, has some good contacts, and has massive experience in that field - can cut through the BS on AFC press releases etc and has a good financial brain to understand the AFC monetary statements etc. He can put his points across well (many, many press appearances illustrate this).
People don't like him, because he is the figurehead, and we are still finishing 4th. He is just a BIT of a twat though, so that may be part of the reason too.
I'm surprised Tim hasn't had to sign up to this forum to defend himself against lies and inaccuracies just like I had to, and Tim Stillman, and Arseblogger, etc ; who else have I missed?

He sounds great on paper.
Unlucky that he's been a scapegoat during a time of incredible discontent at an anonymous board when he's the most visible and approachable if he's done nothing stupid.
