Why so strong? Seems like a needless risk to me, with Norwich inevitably going down today all it takes is one dickhead to get carried away and someone's out of the cup final. Equally one misjudgement with a poor tackle and it could be a suspension.

I guess there's logic behind it in that we've only played 3 games with Ozil and Ramsey back in the team and we want to continue our momentum but I would have been far happier sending Sanogo and co out.

Understand your point NB123 but guess it's trying to get a consistency going for next weekend. We cannot/must not lose that final (ps I am not trying to justify AW - am firmly in the 'fuck off' camp!)

Fucking stupidity on the part of Wenger... I can accept that Ozil and to a lesser extent Ramsey may need game time, but Giroud? :cussing:

Szcesney won't play again this season then.

Sagna plays his last game at centre back.

I recall Wenger saying something about respecting the competition ie not fielding weaker sides to unbalance the relegation battle but thought he was just towing the line with the press, clearly not. If anyone needed a rest this week it was Giroud, unless he is planning on starting with Sanogo for the cup final

EDIT: re Sagna, meant to say last league game.

he is resting Sanogo for the cup final

seriously though Wenger will be going all out for the 3 points today because then he can say all summer "we won the last 5 games, and so we don't need to bring in any new players blah blah blah"

That would be true if Norwich weren't already relegated. Unless he thinks we need our best 11 to avoid losing 18-0

Yes. Yes he is.

Just because he didn't cost £50 - £100m it doesn't mean he doesn't have quality. I Think he will start showing it soon enough.

Or something like that anyway.

The caution system applies to the cups aswell. Pretty sure Sagna got booked against Newcastle and commentary said if he gets a booking he is suspended.

The lineup reminds me of Olympiakos 2012 where we had already qualified through the group stages and Wenger started santos despite him being our only left back & then he got injured, leaving us with no left backs for half the season.
