Besiktas away

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Tuned in late so can somebody tell me why we're wearing black armbands? Pardon my ignorance.

Besiktas in black kit also a one off - due to their chairman passing away

CHambers really shows his inexperience when strikers turn their back on him, like Koscielny used to and occasionally still does. Default movement is to panic and foul.

Sanchez has disappointed me. You can see that he's desperate to run at his man which is great, and you can accept he is going to be rusty, the pitch isn't great and the support isn't always there. But he's not really beat his man at all, and that latest time he was one-on-one in a good position with acres of space behind him and he let the bloke shepherd him to the touchline.

That tackle on Ba in the box was good though. One would hope that with experience he will iron out the deficiencies in his game, but I suppose we'll have to get used to the idea that he will make bad decisions from time to time.

I do like what little I've seen of him though, quietly optimistic about his future.

Absolutely mate, it's to be expected of anyone his age never mind a 19 year old CM converted to a RB playing his first games at CB. Very impressed on the whole.

Offering nothing from midfield. I wouldn't be too disappointed with a draw, score draw especially, as we should roll these over with no drama at home.

The pitch isn't helping us get our short passing game (tippy tappy) going.
