Why was Ozil's injury only diagnosed when he was with the German NT?

Did Arsenal miss the injury?

Did he injure himself in business class? (this part is clearly a joke)

from Arsenal.com
Arsenal can confirm that midfielder Mesut Ozil is returning to London from international duty with Germany after picking up a knee injury during Sunday’s game at Chelsea.

Ozil complained of a sore left knee after the game and the club advised the German FA to run medical checks when he joined up with his international squad.

The club will make further assessments and it is too early to say how long Ozil may be out of action.

So Ozil injured his knee ligaments on Sunday against Chelsea and not only was he made to play on through the game with it, we actually sent him for International duty without any inclination that he was injured? The negligence of our medical staff is astounding.

Knee ligaments, that explained why he just stood about with a face like a smacked arse on Sunday. Now just have to find out why for the previous 13 months.

Absolutely exemplary fitness and conditioning from us. Could just be misfortune on this occasion but overall there are a ridiculous number of injuries and clearly our methods of training are ridiculous.

What are the bets we'll be hearing towards the end of the season that we might have challenged for the league if it wasn't for injuries to Giroud, Ramsey, Walcott, Ozil and just about every other fucker in the squad???

Have you any evidence of that?

The club's website says that "Ozil complained of a sore left knee after the game."

The physio and doctor do watch from the bench and look for signs of injury but Ozil is hardly one who runs around at full pelt, so his running style and work rate on Sunday would give little clue he was injured.
If he only tells the club after the game then it is no one's fault if that is the first he felt of the injury.
It is a partial tear, not a snapped ligament which would cause instant pain, so it is believable.
Gunner Rob wrote:what a joke this club has now become - Wilshere can cement the number 10 spot though and we have Walcott to come back on the wing.
Another option is Wilshere played deep central midfield with Flamini whilst Ramsey and Arteta are out, and use Cazorla as number 10 between Sanchez and The Ox as the attacking midfielders, at least until Walcott and Gnabry return.

But The Ox in the Ramsey role next to Flamini, and Wilshere as number 10, with Cazorla wide left and Sanchez wide right, is interesting.

make that 9 players lost in 11 games now.

something is obviously very very rotten at the club - we need to do three things - replace the pitch & go back to turf, replace entirely the medical and fitness teams, and get rid of all this timed sprints and tika tka bollocks, get back to weights, swimming and running.

i've watched our training sessions on TV - we do very very little running. and then we send players out to run for an hour and a half - then they break down with sprains, strains and tears.....

its not rocket science is it ? - their bodies are obviously not conditioned for running are they ? - being the quickest over 8 yards is great, but not if you can't do it after running for 40-50mins and you break down.

look at the hamstrings and calf strains we get - its ridiculous FFS.

WENGER OUT !

you are much more likely to get injured standing still with the ball than running along and taking one or two touches IMHO.

Wenger OUT !
Wilshere - Ankle stress fracture missed a whole season. Never seems to have really recovered from it.
Rosicky - missed about 18 months with a hamstring/thigh/variety of other muscular injuries
Fabregas - Hamstring problems
Ramsey - Hamstring problems, broken leg was hardly tiki-taka inviting a challenge
Gibbs - Pulls abdominal muscles, side strains, just about everything but always muscular

Our problem is not with impact injuries, it is a conditioning problem.

Jesus Fucking Christ!

Just how many of our squad are currently on the injury table? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Currently we have:-

Gnabry - Knee
Walcott - Knee
Arteta - Calf
Ramsey - Hamstring
Monreal - Back
Sanogo - Hamstring
Debuchy - Ankle
Giroud - Tibia
Ozil - Knee
Diaby - Life in general

Have I missed anyone?

All we need now is for Wilshere or Wellbeck to pick up injuries playing in Internationals and we're fucked

You missed Ospina and if you add him to that list it makes quite a good team. :barscarf:

Agree with clockender1 regarding the running. You cannot expect to condition a body and particularly the legs for 90 mins of running and contact by doing things like short timed sprints. They are two completely different things that put different kinds of stresses on tendons, joints, ligaments and bones.

I know I've said it once, but fuck it I'll say it again;

One of the big problems is there has been a move away from over developing calf and thigh muscles because of medical and physio evidence showing players from yesteryear developed long term knee and ankle problems related to supporting that muscle mass. But in the short term that over developed muscle mass prevented these stupid niggling and re-occuring injuries many of our lightly built players now suffer. The muscle mass protected the bone and ligaments and tendons.

Of course many of those well built players from yesteryear needed to have their ankles fused and knees cleaned out after they retired, but to be honest I don't really give a fuck about the modern millionaire players' long term health, only that they can deliver for The Arsenal during their time earning millions with us. 8)

Build these pussies up! :barscarf: :-P
