Lawro is a wanker But what he says about Wenger is bang on the money....

Lawro says

"......... Arsene Wenger's side are just papering over their defensive cracks. The way they let their 3-0 lead slip away against a team of the calibre of Anderlecht in the Champions League on Tuesday was just frightening.

On what Arsenal need...

"Early in his reign as Arsenal manager, Wenger had David Seaman, Tony Adams, Steve Bould, Martin Keown, Nigel Winterburn, Lee Dixon, Patrick Vieira and Emmanuel Petit to call on, players who gave him a fantastic base to play his football from.
"That is just not the case at the moment. And, no matter how good you are going forward, there are times in every game where you come under pressure and have to defend.
"If you can defend and keep a clean sheet, and you have quality like Arsenal do at the other end then it is pretty obvious that you are going to win a lot of games. The frustrating thing for Arsenal fans must be that they are not far away from achieving that - ..... but he does not seem to want to address their defensive issues."

......the Gunners manager does not help himself. I do not understand why he has not strengthened his side defensively - with a world-class goalkeeper, centre-back and defensive midfielder.

When Wenger does some planning, in terms of buying and selling, he has to start looking at his team from back to front, rather than front to back.
The Gunners continue to play really outstanding football, create lots of chance and score stacks of goals but that is all wasted if, in a 10-minute spell, they play like complete strangers in defence.
Lawro's prediction: 0-2

Lawro was speaking to BBC Sport's Chris Bevan. Miles Jacobson was speaking to BBC Sport's Mike Henson.

When Arsenal lose it hurts.
it doesn't seem to hurt wenger or the board though does it ? - just us....
I DO. :barscarf: :barscarf:
How long have the present board been "supporting the club" ? 5 -10 years. I've suffered good & bad for over 60 years & I still hate to miss watching a game or seeing them lose. Mind you it's from a very long way away these days !!. Go the Gunners. :barscarf: :barscarf:
2-2 draw this week.

On the basis we haven't played well all season we must be due a good performance !

Predict illusionary dominance with lots of Possession and an early 7-0 lead which will end in a 8-7 drubbing as Wenger once again plays with no defenders and a rush goalie !

The bit you missed out of that quote though is he starts by stating what a big fan is of Wenger. So I would assume if you asked him whether Wenger was the right man for the job despite the obvious failings he has just spelt out, he would say he was. I do wonder what he has to do in the eyes of the media to be under pressure.

It's well known he is a fan of Clueless...But...even he can see the failings.... :rubchin: ...actually even Stevie Wonder can...

btw: In answer to your question

He has to fail to deliver the VT for 3 straight seasons - then ...and ONLY then - might his position as Despot of THE Arsenal be in jeopardy....until then nothing will change - except the new kits every season to rake in more wonga from the Sheeple.

But the media aren't benefitting from us making money like the owners etc. so why do they also refuse to criticise him directly? The knives are currently out in the media for the managers that came first and second in the Premier League last season! But for Wenger, it's like a taboo subject.

When GG assembled the defence Wenger adopted, none of them were household names really, decent defenders but nothing compered to what they would become,GG drilled them daily in training, until they got it off to a fine art, until they must have fucking hated doing it in training, but fuck me what a back four they became.Wenger has never come close to a decent back four since they all left/retired,Campbell and Toure,Lauren and Cole were good for us but this fucking clown has never ever addressed the glaringly obvious flaw, its not like this has happened overnight, its been 7 years coming, now they've been found out yet again and that *word censored* will STILL do fuck all. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

When we lost at Swansea in 2011/2012 was the day when I finally gave up on Wenger.
No tactics and terrible defending allowed them to cut us apart on the wings that day resulting in a 3-2 defeat.
Nothing has changed.....in fact defending has got even worse. :(

We will somehow magically pull this out of the fire - when Alexis shows the rest of the team How To Do It - and we win by a single goal - or They will rape us 4 or 5 nil/1

Alexis will give his all - pull a muscle - and THEN for the next 4/5 games he's out injured - the SHITT WILL HIT THE FAN!

just f8ck off wenker you *word censored*.

the predicament we are in under Wenker hurts like hell,as an Arsenal supporter of some 36 years now it breaks my heart to see us going around and around in circles instead of pushing forward and winning things, but just like when a relationship breaks down there is no point in wasting sentiment on somebody who doesn't give a fuck about how you feel and if Wenker cared about Arsenal as much as some of us here do hed have fucked off along time ago, roll on that day,the day he fucks off will be the day my heart is mended
