To be honest, City have to travel East tomorrow, I can understand why they would play a weakened side. They have a chance to go further in the CL, we really don't have much of a chance so should have started with a stronger side yesterday. If Wenger truly thinks we can beat Barca he is deluded.
10 years ago they would have jizzed their pants at the prospect of an FA Cup Quarter Final. I hope now that they're such a big club their fans forgive them if their gamble backfires.
What all those fans who spent the first half a decade at their new stadium dressed as empty seats?

They have got as much chance of winning the CL as we do. If they somehow bluff their way through to the semis it will be a big improvement on past seasons but not worth sacrificing shit for. Although we are looking like passing up a golden opportunity to win the league, from a footballing perspective it's even worse from City given that they have the leagues best striker (by a distance and one of the best players in the world), the leagues best CM when he can be arsed turning up in Toure, a playmaker of proven PL quality in David Silva and a casual 100m worth of new attacking talent in de Bruyne and Sterling.

With Chelsea being drawn away at Everton, it yet again opens up for us to get through to another final, if we can be arsed to turn up and play ?

we have two games to worry about yet before we worry about the semis. with the way our luck is going we will draw palace at wembley, but that's if we beat hull and watford. think watford will be a huge game, they will be comfortably safe by then in the league and looking to get a cup. anyone with memories of '87 will want to crush them, the jammy bastards.

on the bright side, west ham ain't getting to wembley. in a steveo style wave of confidence, i will bet all my worldly possessions against it. 8)

We get lucky in the draw again.
Wouldn't be surprised at all if we play Reading again in the Semi Final.
Wenger doesn't half get lucky in the FA Cup draws.

If Wenker had bought a striker in the transfer window we would have already been looking forward to the Watford game....

We've had a bit more fortune than normal in the past couple of seasons although I would point out in 2014 we knocked out Liverpool (the Suarez version), Spuds and Everton who were flying high on the way to winning it. One thing we don't get often is the likes of Scunthorpe, Shrewsbury and Exeter in the way Chavski and the Mancs always seem to. We haven't played a side from outside the top 2 divisions in the past couple of years.

Anyway I still remember Watford cheating at Highbury in 1987 in the FA Cup, so 29 years later I want some revenge !

we should rest players v barca 2nd leg for the quarter final v watford if we get there. it's stupid to risk tiring the players in a pointless 4-0 defeat then field a weakened side in the only comp we have won in years. time to put the eggs in the fa cup basket, maybe wenger will cotton on and realise this....

haha as if :banghead:

Has the date of the replay been confirmed?

Are we going to be left playing it on Quarter Final day?

Unless they postpone the Swansea game then I guess we will have to, as that will be the only other opportunity that week

The dictators at UEFA won't let teams play, televised, on the same night as European competitions. As they are very greedy and want the TV rights every week, this makes it nigh on impossible for replays.

I knew about that rule because PL breached it a few years back. And nothing happened.

Likewise Barca played a midweek game last week I think even though there was CL on too.

Didn't Barcelona play on the same day but at an earlier time so as not to conflict?? So, Hull away at 5pm on a Tuesday would be fine!

Can't see they would play it 8/3 in any event as would have Arsenal / Watford / Hull / West Brom fans not knowing if or where they were playing in 3/4 days time. Plus of course TVs interests may be very marginally affected!
