St. Totteringham has been sacrificed this year for the on-going struggle to remove Wenger from our club and start playing real football again instead of imaginarycorkbarry wrote:At this time the best thing in the World for us is to finish above Spuds in 2nd. I see no reason for us not to get 6 points in the last 2 games and Spuds to lose or draw both of theirs.
There might be Saint Totteringham day yet.

I'm wondering if we are going to set up for a draw to ensure third or if we are going to sit back ,let them come at us, then use Mertersacker and Ramsey, etc to break out at lightning speed to get the ball to Giroud and hit them on the counter. Whatever happens this is going to be a fascinating encounter and I zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I don't want that, it's the last thing we need. We finish 2nd and Wenger will be signing his contract extension after the Villa game. I don't give a shit if spurs finish above us or not, getting Wenger out is more important. Finishing below spurs, preferably in 4th (5th would be even better) is not going to get rid of him but it's not going to help his cause either. The lower down the league we finish, the better as far as I'm concerned. I didn't even want him to get 4th because that is his benchmark, that's his "judge me in May" target.corkbarry wrote:At this time the best thing in the World for us is to finish above Spuds in 2nd. I don't believe finishing above or below the scum will affect AW's position at all.
If we got second, we'd no doubt have his usual bollocks to listen to for a few days, but surely this would be massively outweighed by a summer spent knowing that the hopes and dreams of the Swampdwellers lay around them like a vomitted kebab splashed over their shoes.
"We're going to win the League!!!!" FUCK!!!
Still, at least we'll finish above Arsenal!!!! FUCK!!!
Still, next year will no doubt be their year.

Re: city away thread
If this season in particular has taught us anything (and affirmed some things really) it is that the fans (without huge numbers and massive media coverage) won't drive Wenger out or even affect the length of his reign, shit results won't affect it, pissing away the best chance to win the PL in donkey's years won't affect it, and finishing above or below the vermin won't affect it - is there even anyone on our Board that understands what an NLD is??
Nothing will affect it once he delivers Top 4, and if he didn't? Even then the Board would give him another year or two to get it back. No, Wenger's reign will end when HE wants it to, whether through being bored or pissed off or looking for a new challenge.
So, for me - fuck it - I'll take finishing ahead of, and totally fucking up, the deluded swamp dwellers by taking away even that bit of consolation.
Don't get me wrong, they SHOULD finish ahead of us, but this is totteringham shitsplats we are talking about here - the biggest no-mark bottlers in the history of world football. Total cúnts to a man. I wouldn't be surprised to see them lose their remaining games.

Yes lovely summers day and Pele was there because it was the very first time the Old Owner and chairman allowed advertising at our home !hertsgunner wrote:I was there that day crammed in the North bank and I think Pele was paraded around the pitch either before the kick off or at half time. The one thing I do remember was the cracking atmosphere that day, Villa didnt get chance to celebrate too many Gooners on the pitch.Herd wrote:Stupid Terry Neil said in the paper he did mind if villa got on the pitch if they won the league !
No way were Arsenal going to take that especially with the clock end having been made all ticket for Villa only !
The whole displaced clock end lined up down the side and as soon as the final whistle went and we had won 2-0 to qualify for Europe
On both sets came and a massive brawl started .
A full scale battle was averted as the Police had very large numbers out but it was hairy !!
It was for amiga or something like that and the mike failed but when people saw Pele emerging from the glasshouse they were on their feet .
I was in the plimsoll b4 the match and it was rammed , 2 villa lads came in and were looking very sheepish,we adopted them and bought them ales and even escorted them to the clock end .
We invited them to the Arsenal Tavern after ,with all the rucking going on we never thought they would come but they did and we had a mad night out on the town , I woke up in a railway siding in Chingford with a claret n blue scarf at 0600 hrs . they returned the favour and for years we met up ,great times and great lads !

Depressingly, you're probably right, although I think he'll go when he's done with football. He won't look for a new "challenge", he doesn't do challenges. And there is not a club in the world that would put up with his shit. If he went to a top club he would fail all their expectations & get unceremoniously booted out and if he went to a Southampton, WB, Swansea, etc,etc he would have them down near, or in, the relegation zone. And wherever he was he would be spinning & bullshitting like he does now, but they wouldn't accept it. NOBODY would, except us... and he knows it. He'll stay here until he's done with football. Lucky us huh?DB10GOONER wrote:If this season in particular has taught us anything (and affirmed some things really) it is that the fans (without huge numbers and massive media coverage) won't drive Wenger out or even affect the length of his reign, shit results won't affect it, pissing away the best chance to win the PL in donkey's years won't affect it, and finishing above or below the vermin won't affect it - is there even anyone on our Board that understands what an NLD is??

City aren't up too much. That being said, if there's one team who can gift them a morale-booster it's Arsenal.
