Well, I am a civil servant in Oireland - so I used to work hard for fuck all money. But now I'm a manager, so I do fuck all work for alot of money!

At the lower grades it's a pure grind tbh - long hours, terrible pay. But management grades are a piece of piss in a lot of ways. Don't get me wrong, I deffo earned my last couple promotions, worked my ass off and volunteered for every project I could get on and then went through rigorous testing and interview processes, but I look around and there are still a big chunk of managers that came through the old "seniority" process, which basically boiled down to "Hey, John - you've been sitting at that same desk for 10 years, we have to promote you".
So you basically slept your way to the top then ??Instead of poor alan sitting at the desk for ten years, all he had to do was bend over it for some of his bosses (probably former rugby lads) to take him up the shitter and hey presto here is your promotion - no wonder you are obsessed with gay sex

Re: Manc Logic
I think it is worth pointing out that everyone is entitled to their opinion about the club they support. I've never bought into this superfan crap - as if self proclaimed superfans are somehow more entitled than others. As I say I've spent more than ANY ST holder over the last 25 years attending games but I would never think I'm some how more entitled to my opinion than them.nut flush gooner wrote:That's because my assumptions are correct. You even admitted you don't go any more so what right have you got to suggest that paying fans should put up with any other manager, the same goes for other managers suggested by people who never attend any games?OneBardGooner wrote:Having supported Arsenal for 47years and spent a "Fortune" for 37 of those 47years - I believe I am entitled to my opinion on all things Arsenal - And for the record the thought of maureen at THE Arsenal gives me the shivers - He is a classless twat - a winner yes - but I too wouldn't want him at my club - There again the Club (Arsenal) that once was the bench mark for "Class" no longer is.nut flush gooner wrote:So given this he would never come to Arsenal. As much as you hate Wenger, I can never see the board giving a manager like Maureen free reign on our cash reserves.OneBardGooner wrote:Maureen may be a classless twatscumbag - But he is a Winner on the pitch - and of course he winds clueless up no end - The ink on his new contract isnm't even dry yet and he has already given manure board his shopping list.
WENGER OUT!
I still wouldn't want him at the club. In the mid 80s/early 90s my season ticket cost not much more than £90 for football that wasn't great on the eye. Why should I pay £1k for a turgid style of football that Maureen brings to the club. If I pay that much I wan't to be entertained.
Quite funny how a lot of people on this forum think they have a right to determine what paying Arsenal fans have to put up with, when they don't step a mile within the ground either out of principle or just don't bother.
As for your comment
"people on this forum think they have a right to determine what paying Arsenal fans have to put up with, when they don't step a mile within the ground either out of principle or just don't bother" You seem to assume a great deal and in that assumption 'judge' those you do not even know - Unless of course you would care to name them?
Oh! and as for ST I once shared a ST with my older brother - Never been able to afford one (as in on my own) - especially these past 7 seasons - unless of course you're accusing those who can no longer afford to go as often as they would like to, or perhaps choose not to because of the "Regime" that is now in place of not having a right to an opinion? Even when it differs from another's.
Just think about the number of forum member's that have never even set foot in the emirates, they would outnumber those of us that do big time. Yet it is these people that seem to have the biggest opinions.
Regarding fans that now don't attend out of principle; I actually have far far more respect for them than the ones that do attend tbh. Have you any idea how much of a sacrifice it is? To give up something you love for a point of principle is to be respected not belittled.

I remember we had an Ewok on here a few years ago who was giving it loads saying "foreign fans" should stick to their own country's club sides and that all fans in general should "support their local club". And then it turned out he was from Enfield and LIVED CLOSER TO TOTTINGHAM THAN ARSENAL!!

Re: Manc Logic
Amen. This media/AKB myth about our "beautiful football" drives me nuts. It is boring, slow, stagnant and over-elaborate football. It is like watching a pub side trying to emulate the BarcaWhores. Funny that I live in the borough of Enfield (but not in Enfield itself), it would be probably 1/2 a miles difference between the distance from here to spud hart lane and the emirates. This side of the A10 is definitely gooner heartlands on the picadilly line.DB10GOONER wrote:rodders999 wrote:Unless you were conceived by your old fella emptying his bag into your mother on the centre circle at Highbury as they fucked each other senseless to the rhythm of Good Old Arsenal then you dirty foreign non attending bastards are not allowed an opinion on MY club alright.

If we were to follow the aforementioned Ewok's claim that we "should only support our local team" then he certainly should have been supporting the scum (if not one of the Enfield clubs) rather than The Arsenal. My point being what a dick he was to use that argument to slate "foreign" Gooners, given his own circumstances.
I should add that I personally don't give a fuck where any fan is from.

Not sure you get the geography of Enfield tbh. We are talking about the Borough of Enfield. In it's southern flank which is the Picadilly line it is directly more accessible to Arsenal than Tottenham.DB10GOONER wrote:DB10GOONER wrote:Nothing changes the fact that Enfield is closer to tottingham than it is to either Highbury or the Conglomerates, mate.nut flush gooner wrote:Funny that I live in the borough of Enfield (but not in Enfield itself), it would be probably 1/2 a miles difference between the distance from here to spud hart lane and the emirates. Re: Letter from Ryan Giggs
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36694547
Yes he IS a CUNTT - and I will NEVER forgive him for scoring THAT goal...but the passion he shows in this letter makes me wonder about the Lack of Passion from our own assistant manager who sits on the bench every week like a soggy towel pocketing his £1.3 million a year.
After 29 years at Manchester United, Ryan Giggs announced that he would be leaving. Below is an open letter that he has written to fans.
After twenty-nine seasons at Manchester United as a player and assistant manager, I know winning is in the DNA of this club - giving youth a chance, and playing attacking and exciting football. It's healthy to have high expectations, it's right to expect to win. Manchester United expects, deserves, nothing less.
This is why it is a huge decision for me to step away from the club that has been my life since the age of 14. It has not been a decision that I have made lightly. I'll take away so many special memories as well as a lifetime of experiences that will, I hope, serve me well in the future.
However, the time feels right and although I have no immediate plans to step into management, it is where I want to be.
I've been extremely fortunate in having two great managerial mentors, firstly in Sir Alex who I've spent the majority of my life working with and learning from, and who I believe will remain as football's greatest ever manager, and in more recent times, Louis van Gaal, whose CV speaks for itself. The knowledge I have gleaned from them has been invaluable.
I want to reiterate my thanks to the backroom staff and support teams at Manchester United I've worked with over the years. The results on the pitch are a reflection of the hard work off it, I would not have achieved the success I have without the dedication, sacrifice and commitment of these people in creating the best environment for the team to succeed.
I want to congratulate Jose Mourinho on his appointment as manager of the world's biggest club. There are only a handful of proven winners at the very highest level and Jose is unquestionably one of them. I know the fans will welcome him.
My final thank you is to the fans. I cannot begin to tell you how much I will miss walking out at Old Trafford in front of you. It's extremely difficult to say goodbye after 29 years. I have loved every minute both as a player and assistant manager. The support you have always shown me has been phenomenal, thank you.
It's time for a new chapter and a new challenge. I'm excited about the future - I've had the best apprenticeship into management anyone could ever ask for.
