I just want to see Lacazette & PEA play together. Whats the point of paying 50m for two strikers if you dont pair them? I know once you play two stinkers it has to be 4-4-2 which is very old fashioned. But there must be a way to put both in the team and give them both the chance to strike.

I have always felt you do what the opposition least want you to do, & I reckon other managers rest easy when they see one of PEA & Lacazette on the bench.
Exactly what i would say.
4-4-2. PEA and Laca up front. There aren't many better front pairings around. They would scare a lot of teams.
Welbeck and MIki, right and left midfield, up and down the line, supporting the fullbacks as well. Ramsey in the middle with Torreira holding.
Ozil DROPPED.

Let's just study a few facts here shall we -

Last season you had a team with an absolutely dire defensive record. You had a midfield that has neither the intelligence nor the inclination to protect the defence. Considering all that, do you still believe that a midfield 4 containing Ramsey, mikki and wellshit is gonna get us back on track ??  Lord help torreira if he is expected to cover for those 3

Btw, last Sunday we had a number of players who weren't good enough or were plain shit, but there was no-one (and I mean no-one) worse than mikki  Iwould think very hard about whether I would even include him in the squad for this game

Well I had us down to scrap for 6th place with Everton so no surprise I'm expecting a 2 or 3 nil loss.

I think it's irrelevant whether we drop ozil or xhaka or Ramsey or miki because our midfield is so ordinary that it's quite shocking to watch.

If we carry on this passing "from the back" game then be prepared for more comedy moments and embarrassing goals.

This is probably the most uninspiring Arsenal side I've watched for a very long time.

Xhaka ahead of Torreira?

Iwobi ahead of Ramsey?

No place for Lacazette, after the difference he made when he came on last week?

Dick is playing with fire here.......

Fuc.king delighted with that - if the c.unt doesnt want to sign a new contract to stay with us, then bomb the c.unt out for rest of the season even if it is iwobi that comes in for him 8) :barscarf:

Second game on the bounce that I’m disappointed with his team selection.

Pick your fucking strongest team man and take it from there. Absolutely ridiculous that we’re handicapping ourselves from the get go.

Nobody is expecting miracles with him waltzing in and turning everything around immediately but if he keeps leaving better players on the bench and dross on the pitch he’ll burn up a lot of my fucking patience.

Looks like a 4-2-3-1 system with that line up. Lets be patient. With David Luiz in a back 4 there will always be chances. Ramsey being dropped is interesting. Emery has given Ramsey his chance and doesn't look too impressed. It's Iwobi's chance today. After this game Torreira will come into the side and sit alongside Guendouzi.

Emery hasn't worked out his strongest team yet. Looks like he's trying to get the attacking balance right to get the best out of Ozil and Mkhi.

It's early yet but i am beginning to have serious reservations over his team selections, he must be seeing something completely different in training to what we have seen week in week out over the last few years.

For those who deem it OTT to criticise Dick so early just remember if it were Wenger making these decisions we'd all be up in arms over it. This is a man who supposedly is a master of critcal analysis and relies heavily on statistics but as yet i can't see it. To play devil's advocate maybe he sees the first two games as throw aways to try different things but i am yet to be convinced.

Still for the moment he gets the benefit of the doubt however personally my doubt is growing at the moment :rubchin:

Taken to pieces far too easily there.... so this pressing game is working really well and Belerin and Mhiki are picking up where they left off last week

Don't know why he isn't playing Lichsteiner at RB. That was just shameful from Bellerin.
