Anyway- now the joy of Spursyness has happened it's back to us to be the other embarrassing half of the North London Bottling Society

There isn't a fucking hope of winning this

Back to the scared stiff, walking pace football, shaky as fuck in defence, weak as a kitten midfielders and lack of leadership

2-2 at best
1-3 at worst

In recent seasons I have always been confident of beating these c.unts cos they had gaping holes that were being ignored by all and sundry in the meeja - this time my confidence of winning this game is on another level entirely, and I swear to god if we dont beat them by couple of goals I will be absolutely disgusted and raging. I know that we have shit the bed of late and confidence/bottle is on the floor, but these c.unts have been shit all fcuking season and are on a FIVE game losing run ffs. They dont have a striker, their defence is shit, and they have fat fwank as their manager - we had all of what the basque fool considers his best 11 bar saliba available against city, so there can be no excuses for not winning this comfortably imo
Let me say - my lack of faith in us winning has no bearing on how shite they are. All of what you say is correct.

However I've seen us in this mode all too often. Southampton are unbelievably shit - off the scale shit. The first club to be inevitably relegated this season and haven't won in 9, and yet somehow almost beat us and scored 3 away from home. West Ham even worse - undeniably shit, as non scoring Palace proved and the Barcodes tool for 5 on their own patch.

As I posted on another thread in past seasons when we've needed results at this part of the season we've let Birmingham, Wigan, Blackburn, Sunderland and a whole heap of shit pull our pants down, and this 2023 version are proving themselves to just be another Wenger lite team.

We are absolutely paralysed by fear. None of the football that gripped everyone has been seen since the 15th minute at West Ham.

We could literally lose to anyone in this mode, even Fat Frank's worst Chavski team in 30 years
I read a really good article about our form since and including the Villa game. Basically how we were as open as an Amsterdam brothel but Saliba and to a lesser extent Partey had initially been managing it. Saliba is so good one on one and he tends to cut out a lot of counters. It talked you through the Villa game, the Bournemouth game, Leeds and Palace and then culminated with the recent draws and loss. It simply agreed with what I have been saying for weeks. It was totally unattainable and our Houdini acts at Villa and home to Bournemouth were opening over cracks. Once we lost Saliba we had a run of easy games which we managed well. However there were scares in those games. Lots of missed chances from the oppo and us being clinical at the right points in the game. Latterly we have dropped clangers and it has come on top, culminating in the current state of disarray. I really don’t think we’ve properly collapsed yet.

Stop press: as of 5 minutes ago, I'm going to the match tomorrow night

My mate can't make it because his missus is in bed with flu and he needs to look after the kids! This is the same fella that didn't mind pissing his missus and her family off on Mothers Day by going to the Palace game!

It's happening again.....

At this rate, I'll have a row to myself when the lap of appreciation takes place after the Wolves game :barscarf:

Absolutely not! More a chance to catch up with some pals and have a couple of beers before the season ends. Of course, once I'm 3 pints in I shall be hoping, praying, singing and cheering with the best of them and hope to be proven wrong....but there's still pressure on the team, so I doubt it sadly :(

Indeed - let's hope we swat these c.unts into oblivion and back to the 1974 timewarp they live in

Sadly can't see it but every nail in the coffin of these fuckbags is one to celebrate

Lose this tonight and we go to Newcastle 10 points ahead of them having played a game more and a very narrow goal difference advantage. Seven points with a game in hand then sees us playing Brighton next up, where as they roll into Leeds who can stop anyone scoring 4 or more.

Honestly, we could end up achieving Spurs incredible 2016 effort of coming 3rd in a 2 horse race

To be honest 2nd to 17th is all the same to me, but for the 'mental strength' of this side, if they can't retain 2nd, it would be the most unreal collapse ever, and much as I pray we stick one on these c.unts tonight, if we don't then I genuinely fear the worst

I don't believe that we are in the right state of mind to win this? There cannot be a person on the planet who thinks we can still win the league and the players must know that as well. I don't think they believe they can win the next game, never mind the league.

The collapse of recent weeks, the lack of form of most, if not the entire team, the mauling at the hands of City, the lack of leadership, all adds up to another struggle. I think we'll lose at Newcastle as well. Wolves at the beach is our best bet for a free flowing, skills on display, flat track bullying performance, followed by the over the top celebration for hanging on to 2nd.
The manner of the collapse over the past month precludes any nonsensical talk about this season being a success. We won nothing, and every frailty and inherent problem created by Wenger is still very much evident.

Dredging the memory banks, Arsenal were written off in 1971 when Leeds had 6 games remaining including Arsenal's visit to Elland Road. Then miraculously, there were 2 draws followed by a very dodgy offside decision at The Hawthorns after a European game which led to Leeds losing to WBA, and suddenly the impossible became possible.

Unlikely to win the league, but Arsenal have to keep going and see what happens

First league match for over a year in which there is absolutely nothing on it - anyone who still thinks there is even a remote possibility that we can win the league is deluding themselves.

Still always nice to beat the Chavs - flat track bully mode tonight I think against this small club in west London.

There is a pride and for me pride and personal performance should be the priorities before every single game - we have shown fcuk all pride in recent games and have to show more tonight. I know my buddies will give me stick tonight saying that we are only beating a shit chav team, but I dont care cos I always want to beat those chav c.unts even if it is a pre-season game (like in Dublin a few years ago) - these c.unts are scum and we need to drive these c.unts deeper into the shit than they already are
