Oleg Luzhny anyone? Turned into a bit of a cult hero in the double year! And also from that season Stuart Taylor I felt sorry for him thought he had potential although he didnt like coming off his line too often.

I agree about Kevin Campbell always worked hard and scored his share of goals.

I was at the Liverpool game Talbot scored in what a goal that was Platini indeed and we won 3-1. Think i was about 13-14 years old at the timeChunky The Gooner wrote:Brian Talbot . He had some energy that geezer did. I remember seeing him score 2 ' Platini ' style free kicks in a week at Highbury against Newcastle and Liverpool . Always liked him

Talbot's free-kick against Liverpool was a cracker. Arsenal were in the middle of a good run that season and went top of the league for a few weeks.
From the title-winning teams of recent years, I think Brian Marwood in the 1989 team. His crosses were snapped up with relish by Alan Smith, who had struggled in his first season with the team. Marwood was an important shor-term signing.
I loved Gilles Grimandi. He was a versatile player and a strong competitor. He could cover in defence or midfield and he volleyed a crucial winner against Crystal Palace in 1998. When he left at the end of 2001/02, I knew we'd miss him because Dixon and Adams had gone too. Grimandi's versatility was desperately needed during the 2002/03 season.

Going to prove how chronologically challenged I am and refer to the stone age. I know there are some other old farts out there.
Peter Simpson. Nothing flashy but an incredible servant to the club over many years.
George Graham. Really fantastic player when he was on song.
More recently I would say Lauren.

Igors Stepanovs, rock solid Latvian powerhouse centre back! Was one of the few who shone during the 6-1 thrashing Man U gave us in 01'
In all seriousness though, Lehmann. Great goalkeeper, capable of the odd mistake (like beginning of last season) but great refeflexes and a winner through and through, still miles ahead of Almunia
