Greatest Form of Protest

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

how about an enitire block wear all black that would draw attention to the situation and turn their back on the game for 10 minutes while chanting a message to the board
isnt that surrendering?

in general it is regarded as tht barca use it as a sign of displeasure against the team and manger , iwas merely using it as an example of another teams fans protesting against their club

As one of the original members that called for some form of public protest then let me clarify that I would believe that any protest would in general be as a result of displeasure at the way the club is being run(into the ground) and would be 95% aimed at the board and only 5% at wenger. For the life of me I cannot see why some people are so afraid to make their displeasure at current events be known in a protest :? This stuff about other clubs laughing at us and the corporate fans wouldnt join in shit is just an excuse for people afraid to stand up and be counted  As it is our rivals are mocking us about our inability to buy players and win trophies and the whole cashburton grove punchline appears to have returned to popularity with some opposition fans  To sit back, accept things as they are and do nothing makes us every bit as bad as the board imo  :banghead:

the constant spin from the club about its financial state, or lack of it
- We've been told that we're in good stead. Arsenal Holdings have the debt of the Stadium loan and also the sale of Highbury Square.
Arsenal Plc (the club) is a separate company and we've been told there is money if Arsene wishes to spend it. It's believe to have been kitty of £70m but that includes transfer plus the contracts attached to those new transfers. Also I believed that the kitty also allows for excisting contract renewal such as Ade's recent pay raise.

the club not spending enough in the transfer window despite selling
players all summer

The reason why I changed the order is that the above answers this. This is soley down to Wenger.

The apparent lack of commitment to the footballing future.
Not sure what you mean here? Wenger bought a host of youngsters which unrealistically means we could not buy for several years and still be in good shape.

Extortionate ticket prices
No different to any other football club. Let alone other forms of 'entertainment' such as pop concerts and theatres etc...

contradicting themselves by not allowing, flags, banners.
Okay, you've got me on this one as I've got no idea

no drinking in site of the pitch, even tho the newcastle chairman is shown drinking
That annoyed me a lot. But I've hear he was warned and what we've seen on TV is him quickly drinking up after his telling off. There's probably a steward just off the screen waiting for him to leave for the concourse but he decided to neck it quickly rather then move.

I would agree a much better form of communication could be the problem. But you can join the AISL or Redaction who meet regularly (i believe) with the board to answer any questions.

So it only looks like the Flags is the issue?
If so, sorry but I'm not with you on that one. :(
and completely undermining the heritage of the club.... red sleeves anybody?
I do feel that Nike & Arsenal could comunicate there ideas before release.

But still not worth a protest.

Hear, hear Boomer.

i agree there i cant see anything ahppening, i would love it to because our club is getting so corporate it dont seem like my club anymore its hard to explain but it feel like there is a gap between arsenal fc and its fans now and all the tradition arsenal had built up throught the years is disapperaing fast

the club dont listen to the fans orcare about the fans

and what i wish i could change most of all is our badge ! i fucking hate how cartooney it is its horrible i wish we could just have the traditional cannon like we use to with the traditional arsenal above it

comparing football to the theatre or pop concert is what has ruined football and took it away from the working class's,

it is not meant to be theatre, its football and football is about winning trophies and wanting your team to do well, football belongs to the fans and its about time it was took back
Sorry Rebel I've got my business hat on today.
Looking at it from a business point of view, which sadly most clubs will, is to compare it to your rivals.
So for our board it will be Sp*ds, Chavski and other forms which the board (Not I  ) will class as 'entertainment'.

I'd love to get rid of those boxes. However, its those boxes that pay the wages. :banghead:
I truely hope Liverpool don't use us as a model.

Trust me I'd like it cheaper, especially whilst looking after the little one and she'll get expencive!
