new away kit

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Glasso - I'm informed by my girlfriend that vertical stripes are flattering but horizontal stripes are 'fattering.' Could this explain why Viduka has gone to Newcastle?!

Ah, a bit of metrosexuality coming to the Gooner Forum!
I bow to your girlfriend's superior knowledge. Now if you could just quickly ask her how I do a cross-stitch? Or maybe you know?

Here is the proof of the miracle that is vertical stirpes:

Ask her at the same time how I can quote a quote without it looking like it was done by a 2 year old.

I don't like it. I won't be buying it. Why can't the board just wake up and listen; AWAY KIT = YELLOW AND BLUE.

I know a lot of people don't like it because it's the same colour as tottingshizer hotspurtz jersey and to a certain extent, I agree; white is not our main colour, it's ok on socks or shorts or sleeves but nowhere else.

However, my main objection is that it further erodes our tradition. One of the things that first attracted me to the Arsenal was the classy way the club held onto its traditions.

We seem to be eroding our traditions more and more every year. The badge has changed, we've left Highbury, the (temporary?) ban on flags, the redcurrent home jersey last year and now the white away jersey. :(

I know we have used a white away jersey before but tradition is not based on something being used first. It is based on length of usage and association with the club. We have used the yellow and blue away colours for decades and they are instantly recognisable (especially yellow jersey with blue sleeves) as our away colours.

Let's get back to being traditional Arsenal. F*ck it - make the players wear the old club blazers and slacks ensemble for cup finals!!

Agree.

Money-making rip-off dressed up as tradition is what it is.

And I am inspired that you think we will be going to cup finals in the future. Is that big cup finals or toddlers cup finals?

If it isn't the Carling Cup, it isn't worth winning.

Also, I see where DB10 is coming from, but this will only be a 1-off, I feel sure of it. Also, seeing as our yellow kit is going to become our third kit (according to Club rules), I'd imagine it will get used more than the white one, anyway. So let Nike and Arsenal have their little money making ploy, and you can go to bed with a clean conscience knowing that you didn't buy it. I know I will (not be buying it)...

Please Jaysus the big two; FA and CL. I do have faith in Le Boss though. He's done it before, he'll do it again. 8)

Are you joking me? Cross stitching is easy, and therapeutic too! As for quoting like a post-pubescent, you press "alt+q" at the start of your quote, then go to the end of it and press it again - and hey presto, Bob's your dad's brother.

Cheers - although my therapist says that I can't stitch anymore after that rage attack at my 'cross-stitching for beginners' class.

As for being post-pubescent - I can only dream.

Alternatively, you can click on quote above the message you wish to refer to and it should appear on an empty canvas. You then type your comments, submit the posting and, hey presto, the quote appears :D

(I'm doing it all the bloody time now)...

Glasso - don't speak too soon. Eventually, everyone will get bored of looking at porn online and cross-stitching will be resurgent. Mark my words!
