How long has Manuel Almunia sat back and drained AFC of wages, knowing he will never ever play?
How about Djourou extending his contract?
How about Denilson?
How about Bendtner showing off how much he makes by putting 52 on his kit?
How about Flapianski, draining the club of funds despite never playing?
How about Diaby?
How about Chamakh, who has made it clear he has no intention of relinquishing his £60k a week, despite never playing?
Did Wenger not go ahead and sign Gallas anyway, despite the fact he threatened to score an own goal at Chelski? Did you not all cheer him on?

Oh but Tevez is a "mercenary". Difference being, he's one who actually wins stuff, and is a quality player.

I'd rather have "loyal" players like Chamakh instead, happy to pick up their wages.

Oh and by the by, I see no one here has an issue with Podolski picking up that fat signing on fee despite his shocking behaviour towards his manager Solbakkenat Cologne. Still.

Wouldn't wanna let facts get in the way of morality etc etc..

Also why would anyone sign Carlos Tevez? As Gary Neville pointed out last week, the guy is only at City because nobody went after him when he was dangling there. He's a bloody mercenary, not one I want at Arsenal.

As for Drogba, whilst I'm a big fan of him as a player, are you seriously suggesting you would have wanted him instead of Podolski? The ages of the two make my mind up on this issue.

I don't think Podolski is there to replace RVP. And even if he was, I would highly doubt that Wenger would not add another striker. He's made it clear that we relied too heavily on one player for goals this year. Not saying Robin wont go (I don't think he will btw) but I don't think we'ld get one in one out.

I think Tevez is a mercenary but an odius, devious, dislikable mercenary as opposed to our own mercenarys who dont seem unduely unhappy to take the cash but dont seem to disrupt the team harmony however shit they are and little they play. My little tuppence for what it is worth that I do believe that david villa is absolutely obtainable from barca if a big club wanted him. Prior to his injury he had become marginalised at barca amid rumours of a falling out with messi and he was becoming increasingly frustrated at life on the barca bench.
