Reading in the "whatever its called this year cup"

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

League Cup glory - its written in the stars

1979 - win the FA Cup final against Manchester Utd .......8 year barren run before 1987 - win the League Cup

2005 - win the FA Cup final against Manchester Utd.........8 year barren run before 2013......you know what comes next

I know it could never compare to the glory of beating West Brom 3-2 on the final day of last season to secure our latest defence of the virtual trophy (every year since 2004)... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Bit late to this thread but oh well. The priority here was to get into the QF so we did that.

But I like this cup and want our club to take it seriously. Its hard to beleive they did after this shambolic display where the players selected looked like they felt they had drawn the short straw. Goals might excite 10 yr olds playing FIFA on their PS3 but this was an embarrassment to professional football in my opinion. When a score is 7-5 then both teams are losers.

But hey, neutrals like watching Arsenal and foreign coaches tell Wenger they admire his teams football when he meets them at Euro or World Cup tournaments. I suppose that is all the matters to the man with other agendas .... many of hich dont appear to involve Arsenal being a serious club with serious intentions of winning!
