Horrible for the Ox, poor guy.
Big season for him after regressing a bit last year.
Lucky it happened before transfer window so we can react
;-)

Exactly - thanks to the virtual signings we made, we have the deepest virtual squad in the league. And the Virtual Cesar.....bowls it out to the virtual Bender.....who plays it to the virtual Yaya Toure.......flicked up to the virtual Higuain.......and now the virtual Ronaldo charging through the midfield......

Second penno was a deffo penno. Kos' right knee took their lad's ankle before he got the ball. However I don't believe for a minute the ref saw that. He gave it because the ball didn't change direction. So the ref got it right for the wrong reason. And yeah the ref was shit, but in all honesty he was shit for both teams. But the Kos sending off was absolute piss. Second tackle made no contact and should have been a quiet warning from the ref.

But none of that covers the fact we are shit with a shit manager. We need to sign a minimum of 5 top class world class players and at least 3 or 4 young players to bed in. Will we? Will we fuck. How anyone can still believe that Wenger is the right man is beyond me. Releases 14 players and signs one? Preseason preperation? Fucking joke. :x

Fail to prepare. Prepare to fail. :|

There are far too many things to list that embarrassed me about this game but probably the most shameful was seeing an Arsenal side outmuscled on their own pitch by a team predominately filled with fucking kids.

Villa were physical but good for them. I like that and it is something severely lacking at Arsenal these days with Wenger’s obsession with technical football. I want to see some pace, tempo, and aggression

The ref looked like he was losing control at times but the Arsenal players whinging at every tackle and stopping waiting for the free-kick was infuriating. It was like they couldn’t accept not being allowed to ‘’play the game they love’’ (as Wenger always says)

What we saw is the on field equivalent of flapping your arms around berating the 4th official. You can see Wenger’s fingerprints all over this team and maybe that’s one of the reasons he is so reluctant to bring in new faces. They might just challenge they way we do things and he wouldn't like that.

Hi All,

First time poster on here and it was my first match at Ashburton as a season ticket holder.

Good grief, what a total disaster Saturday was. I agree with Wenger when he said after the game that our first 11 should beat theirs but it's a squad game and has been for about 2 decades so he's just trying to bluff his way out of it and failing.

After the Jan 13 transfer window Wenger said that it's the first time in years that he's got money to spend and there was I getting my hopes up for this summer. What a :censored: I am for being so deluded even after years of hearing the same old shite.

If Wenger hasn't had his eyes opened to the fact we need reinforcements and fast then I'm afraid he's not capable of managing us any longer. He clearly spends too much time in the boardroom which leaves him obsessed with the financials rather than actually seeking to give something back to the fans.

I don't quite see what the clubs' strategy is, unless it's just to fleece the fans for as long as humanely possible before actually reacting. I was 20,000th on the ST waiting list this season and still got offered one, to me that speaks volumes about the apathy of the fans.

I thought the first pen shouldn't have been given. He gave the advantage ur man had an open goal and missed - advantage over, goal kick.

Not trying to defend that shite but thought the ref made a few howlers that probably did cost us the game. We should still be able to beat that bunch of whipping boys all the same.

What is the point of mertesacker - he gets out jumped, out muscled, out paced.

Hmmm.. I thought it was pathetic if I'm honest, he was never going to win the ball he went in for, he starting the challenge from too far away (went to ground far too easily), and should have just hopped over the challenge, it was totally avoidable!

Never fear, Wenger reckons he's working 24 hours a day to sign new players, we won't miss Ox.

Yes, Sid, working on other signings that he can destroy through his outdated training methods, playing them out of position, subbing them when they're playing well... we've been here before sadly!

Yep I have to agree the Ox was far to eager to win the ball, not that that's a bad thing but you have to pick your battles. He had no chance of winning the ball, so as frank says totally avoidable. That said... It was a terrible pass in the first place ( I think it was from walnut ) a real hospital ball, not good enough.

surprised to hear the BFG criticised when Kos had such a stinker
Mertesacker led the rest of the defence well, whilst Koscielny ran around headlessly
Ox jumping in was stupid but he'd been influenced by the ref. Taylor let them nail so many of our players.
Chambo was basically trying to protect himself, that went well!
Not watched highlights, it ain't a pen. Saw him play the ball.

TOTALLY disagree on moaning to the ref. Nowhere near enough complaining.
ManUre, Chelski even Liverpool would surround the ref if Gerrard or Carrick was persistently nobbled
our players left Wilshere and Giroud to moan alone whenever they were kicked.
Allowed Villa to execute a cynical game plan and taylor to send off Kos but not Vlaar or Westwood.

It was a fucking penalty JD! You continuing to refuse to watch the clip that shows it was a pen doesn't mean that it wasn't - it doesn't work like that :D !

Koscielny played the ball AFTER he had fouled the player. I think the ref may have fluked getting it right but nevertheless he did get it right! As he did with most of the other key decisions.
