Its no so much the £40m + £1 bid itself that angered me because the club were obviously misinformed on that one (probably by the player's agent himself). Its the fact that we didn't have the balls (Barca style) to continue upping the bid and putting some serious pressure on them to sell.

Lets be honest if we'd signed him for £55m -£60m and he was displaying the sort of form he is now then nobody would have batted an eyelid. We also hoped that our miserly bidding would still see the player leave and only at the eleventh hour when it was clear all was lost we went cap in hand to Chavski asking for Ba on loan......something that was altogether more embarrassing than the Suarez bid. Please Mr Mourinho, can you throw us some crumbs from the table - pathetic and desperate from a clueless goon that had 3 months to sign a striker

Steve at that time the biggest Arsenal spend was in the region of 15 mill , we cannot knock what was a huge bid at that time . We know it was a genuine bid and the purchase of Ozil confirmed that . I am as anti wenger as you and they should have had a credible plan b in place

Its the lack of plan B mate that will cost us, as so many of us predicted. Plan B is not begging on hand and knee to Chavski at 11pm on deadline day for Ba (who we had endless opportunities to sign over the past few years if he'd really wanted him). Wenger is absolutely lucky in the extreme that Giroud has kept a clean bill of health because our position would be significantly worse than it is today if he'd been injured after the window closed

Arsene:- Well no, of course it is difficult. But look Ive signed an exciting prospect, Yaya Sanogo. Hes super quality and hes absolutely free! And Mattieu Flamini too! Free! *crooked grin*

Ivan:- "No Arsene. Yaya wont cut it. We need a world class proven talent to settle things down. Time is not with us" *sighs and shakes his head*

This will unsettle the player and he will throw his toys out of the pram, stamp his feet and demand to be allowed to talk to us. Liverpool will have no choice to sell him to us and at a knock down price too! How clever am I Ivan?" *smug crooked grin and secretly thinking hes fooled everybody again*
