You are right as Lord 'Arris of Peckham probably said last year " This time next year we'll spend like Billionaires"
Del Boy was full of sh*t and I think Lord Arris could be telling porkies too

I'd rather we spend nothing than do something stupid like spend over 40m on a subpar player.

If he goes , then thanks for his year at AFC and hard luck at Citeh..
He'll go there to probably sit on the bench as Zabaleta should be their 1st choice RB.
This was his last contract so wanted to get as much as possible... And Citeh of course jumped at the chance of taking him away from our squad and disrupt our starting back four as much as possible.
Uefa should hand out tougher bans to 'clubs' like Citeh.
Tough bans.....whatever for FFP, the biggest advocate of FFP is the crook Russian at Bridge of Chavs. It tells you all you need to know. Shitty turned up and ruined their chances of being dominant for decades like manure. For him the worry is Shitty will eventually outdo them in Europe as well.
We don't need to break the rules to meet FFP. The most sensible thing to do is to stick 2 fingers up at Sagna by going to get an upgrade....Coleman or get a very good going forward RB and a disciplined tough tackling midfielder that knows how to cover for marauding FBs....like Aurier and Martinez or the cheaper versions Mascherano or Schneiderlin.
Good luck to Sagna but losing him is hardly like losing Judas or Cesc. It only becomes that if we react like small time losers.....the kind of reaction shitty would have before they won the lottery
Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Talking about Chavski , I still CANNOT believe how they managed to escape a FFP ban..topgoon wrote:G_G wrote:That's what I've read as well....defleppardisking wrote:It's just a matter of time that city will announce they have signed sagna.

I know that a 50M fine won't hurt them one bit, but I'm just guessing here.
As for a replacement / improvement at RB what frightens me the most is the possible involvement of Jenkinson in the first XI. As much as I love the bloke for being one of us, I still believe he needs more time to learn his trade and gain experience especially at defending. That's the main issue for me when it comes to RB /LB.
The last thing we need is someone who's only thinking about bombing forward.
Sagna was a good RB because he was primarily a defender and that's why he did a good job when played at CB as well.
There are not many good players out there who are good at defending AND can offer something going forward.
But I think we'll probably end up with Aurier beacuse :
a. He speaks French &
b. He'll only cost 7M.
We also need to to remember that if TV5 goes we need a new CB as well ... And if that happens our strength in depth will be gone , that's for sure

I dont want Aurier. He's african=ACON duty. It was bad enough when we had Toure, Adebahore & to a small extent- Eboue all on duty.G_G wrote:Talking about Chavski , I still CANNOT believe how they managed to escape a FFP ban..topgoon wrote:G_G wrote:That's what I've read as well....defleppardisking wrote:It's just a matter of time that city will announce they have signed sagna.

these Africans are a false economy imho - because a) they have to adapt to the Engliash game and b) you lose them for a month every two years.spendsum4uckingmoney wrote: I dont want Aurier. i'd rather see Jenko as first choice and playing every week and upping his game through coaching.
btw Sagna wasn't even close to Dixon, was a superb crosser of the ball, a penalty taker, and very quick. Lauren was better than Sagna too.

Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Looks like one of Swanseas strikers is out the door as they have agreed a fee for Batshuayi with Standard liege. Ball is in the players court. Bizarrely he supposed to have said he wants to wait for us to bid. So either Him and his agent know something we don't or the kids gambling on a move to a bigger club.... Anyway here are my brown sauces

Must admit I know nothing about him....anyone here rate him - as in he'd be a very good signing - or - meh!topgoon wrote:Looks like one of Swanseas strikers is out the door as they have agreed a fee for Batshuayi with Standard liege. Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Been playing in the the French league since he debuted in 2009, been a RB for Toulouse for 2 seasons, scored 8 goals, gets in team of the year. Not saying he's the answer but the 'has to adapt because he's African" arguement falls at the first hurdle. Has as much experience as Sagna did when he joined us, actually more.clockender1 wrote:these Africans are a false economy imho - because a) they have to adapt to the Engliash game and b) you lose them for a month every two years.spendsum4uckingmoney wrote: I dont want Aurier. Sagna had 87 apps as a RB with no goals or assists, Aurier has 117 prof apps and 8 goals.
It's not ideal getting from another league, but you know we wont pay top dollar for a RB like Coleman. I don't think I'd want us to. No one won the league because of 25million pound right back and I can see Everton taking the p*ss and asking for that, especially if the dumbasses at Manure pay 30million for Shaw.

It would be nice to be able to sing "We've Got Cesc Fabregas" again!
