yet another transfer window where Wenger has got away with it again with barely a murmur of discontent amongst the fanbase (this forum excepted of course)
onwards and downwards to the holy grail of 4th place
let Leicester and Spurs fight it out for the title

And Veiria, I remember seeing quotes of him berating the club for not buying world class signings. Wenger replied by telling him that he was not a world class player when he bought him. That was early in 2005, before the cup win and his exit. I myself wondered why we hadn't strengthened the squad after the invincibles year, but we were moving to our new stadium and funds were tight, apparently.Midz wrote:The same kinda message that caused people like RvP to jump ship.augie wrote:

Being overpaid on the infamous 'Socialist Wage Structure' is one thing, but any player with ambition and balls - rarely seen in the squad these days - craves trophies to go with his inflated wages. The club clearly makes tons of money, but also has fuck all ambition beyond the VT. The cycle repeats itself.Midz wrote:The same kinda message that caused people like RvP to jump ship.augie wrote:I argued a few years that watching the club perform as they have done in the transfer window, must drain the energy and confidence out of them - most of the players are no fools and they will be well aware that we needed to strengthen, so you tell me what kind of message does our continued failures in the transfer market send to those players ?
TOF would rather overpay what he has at the club now, than bring in anyone of note for 'dizzying prices'. Yet another glass ceiling has been reached. We thought he might have been finally willing to spend the money he has hoarded over the years after the Ozil and Sanchez deals, but no, back to penny pinching cowardice for TOF.

I remember the good old days when a transfer thread reached the hundreds
we usually signed as many back then as we have in this one. Dont forget we signed those young kids and we gave nacho a new deal..in le bumhole land thats a busy window. Now all we need to do is sit back and watch it all unravel between now and may

So in the past year, the only outfield player Le Trou du Cul has signed is a camel farmer from Cairo, who was hardly tearing up trees in Swiss football and who nobody else wanted. That's despite having £200m cash in the bank. It's stunning really as any other club's fans would be tearing Wenker a new one. Over there here parts he will get a new deal and adulation.

Yet again this transfer window more evidence (if it was really needed) that the attitude of the club is not to be the best but that they are quite content with being a top 4 club.
an example of trying to be the best is Manchester City - they have a manager in place who could easily win 2 or 3 trophies this season but they want to move the club up to another level - Arsenal do not
sadly the brainwashed supporters mainly go along with this and when Wenger finally leaves I am afraid (for many optimistic people on here) that things wont get any better. The ambition has been somehow sucked out of the club. very sad.

The myth of TMOTD working wonders in the transfer market can finally be put to bed.
Apparently his transfer dealings consist of players knocking on his door looking for a game
It looks like its gonna be down to internal solutions again.

Thank fuck we are in a position that we don't need to sign anybody as we cruise to a third blank in a row, a fourth winless game and have the luxury of bringing on Coquelin to try and win the game after 86 minutes.
