Deadline day Arshavin saga

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The club are not being ridiculous... they're doing what they always do - wait until the transfer is signed and sealed before confirming it on the website.

Yes we're waiting for confirmation, but maybe Arsenal are waiting to hear from the FA?? - rumours that the deal may have missed the deadline, and therefore invalid, may be true... and the club might be keeping their fingers crossed with the rest of us!

You can criticise Arsenal for many things, but we're always dignified in our transfer dealings, by not running to the press every 5 minutes... why should they start now? - just let them get on with it; we're not little kids, I'm sure we won't burst with excitement!

Im not asking them to run to the press. We hear from sources all over the place we are waiting for this we are waiting for that. The deal has fallen through, the deal has gone through. He is in hertfordshire, he is going to the airport, he is at highbury house, he failed a medical, he passed a medical, they accepted a bid, it was submitted to late, this that and the other.

What the fuck is wrong with some *word censored* who worls for the clun to come out and say. 'The deal has hit a few complications with the registartion of the player and blah blah blah blah.....' How is that running to the press? Its letting your clubs fans know what the fuck is going on!

It's almost 23 hours since the window officially closed. Are we not within our rights to expect the club to let us know if we've signed a player or not???

You do have a point, but that's never been the Arsenal way, and I don't have a problem with that... or should I say, I've come to accept it.

I think the club has done the right thing over january, in that they haven't spoken about transfer specualtion - and never do - but Wenger did talk about Arshavin and what he would bring to us, last week.... that suprised me!

But, yes... as far as today goes, maybe a short statement confirming that the matter is with the FA, and waiting approval, etc. would have been nice.

I agree with you! (there you go, I said it! )
