Good to see Bendtner scoring, even if it was a tap in.

He also gave an assist for the second goal. He had a very good match, although he wasn't 100% fit..

I thought Song was brilliant. He ran his socks off, his passing was sublime, and he did his job defensively.

Happy to see Nic score but I disagree with the opinion that he had a 'very good match'. Yes, he done well to score his goal and he played a part in the winner, but Bendtner's touch and hold up play was awful for the majority of the game and for a big lad, he barely bothered to put himself about.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan and have often been one of the few voices on here that have defended him over the past couple of years and said that he is still young and will get better. However, even though I think that will still come true, I am starting to doubt whether big Nic can go on to become one of the best strikers of his type in the world and fulfil the potential that I saw in him 4 or so years ago.

I really believe that with the physical attributes he has, Bendtner could and should be so much more effective and dominant than he is. The guy should be harassing and bullying defenders and make sure that playing against him is a nightmare for opposition defences - much like Duncan Ferguson used to. Yet seeing him all too often strolling around letting a match pass him by without making the contribution that he could, I sometimes wonder if he really has the desire and attitude to back up his words in the media and become the world force that he could be. :?

I guess what we're looking for is the same mentality and work-rate that tevez shows in his games.

Paraguay look a decent outfit, they were chasing Slovakia around and closing them down and put in so much effort!

Predictions for Italy v New Zealand, I reckon 3 0 Italy.

Firstly, he wasn't 100% fit yesterday, and you could see at the end of the match that he was exhausted. He did whatever he could to maintain his energy.

However, I do agree Nick's work-rate isn't one that stands out in our group of players. On the contrary, He's closer to the group of players who don't run their socks off during the match (Denilson, Diaby, etc).

I think that if he has good World Cup, and takes on a more important role in the team, he will have to improve that area in his game. I hope he does, becuase he has a real potential.

New Zealand!!!!

:barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Let's hope they go on to win here!

These Italians are starting to go down quicker than the cheapest hookers in Milan though.

To be honest when teams play like that and dive at every opportunity, I'd rather watch a Bolton style team any day.

Kiwis get the draw! nice one!

I'd trade all our players for all their players in a second, at least their players have heart.

Exactly right.

That's all it is too. They're playing with heart, and they're playing for the team and country.

No egos in the team, no expectations, just enjoying every minute of their time in the spotlight.

Good on them!

Yeah.

And it is the "Mourinho" World Cup.
I reckon coaches saw him win Champs League.
Defence and caution are the order of the day.
