Meh he said the same about Podolski when all the rumours were coming out. Wenger hates it being public. Not saying we'll sign him, just don't believe anything Arsenal say on signings good or bad. Its all bollocks. I don't see why anyone puts much stock in anything the media or Wenger says on such issue.

I agree, but why the fcuk does wenger do all this cloak and dagger rubbish...its not like he is in negotions for messi or someone.I feel all this does is make the fans feel even more excluded from the club(a familiar feeling these days)......many other managers tell the fans their thoughts and outline where they may want to improve, and even openly admit their interest in certain players so why are we treated as people who do not need to know? I understand the need to keep certain deals under wraps but i really dislike the seeming attitude of "we will tell you oiks as little or as much as we like, and if you don't like it then sod off as there are many who will take your place"

Nice selective choice of international stats. Look closet though:? How many league goals has Higuain scored, playing for a bigger club, where he competes with two of the best strikers in Europe?
That'd be more than Podolski then. Hush up.

2. Tevez and his attitude? Yeah must be they same attitude that has seen AC Milan bid for him twice, and will see him pick up a second league title. You're talking about the same Tevez who ran the league a year ago. Playing for a club full of class players. Again: silence in the auditorium please. No sane individual would rate Podolski above Tevez. That's why one is valued at £30 mil and is about to win the league, and the other is valued at £10 mil and got relegated.

3. Did you just try and compare David Villa, golden boot in the Euros, to Podolski? LOL

Tell you what lets go further and claim Podolski is better than Ronaldo eh?
i wasn't comparing or criticising, you said Pod wasn't the best available. i gave good reasons why he was, and why we wouldn't want them - unproven, temperament, age, injury etc etc.

and your argument about Higauin actually works against your argument that players are not proven until they are over here.

no offence, but i don't think you understand your own arguments mate, let alone mine.

LOL. i should know better than to argue with idiots, they always try and bring me down to their level.

bearing in mind, this is the guy that thinks 34 yr old Drogba is a better replacement for 28 yr old RvP than 26 yr old Podolski
Erm. The master of fallacy. It's harsh that English isn't taught in the woods or else, you wouldn't be having such difficulties. Bless

You brought Higuain into it.
Perez said they might consider offers for Higuain.
Hence he's available in the market. And miles better than Podolski.

Bitch slapped part 1.

I never mentioned Drogba as a "replacement".
I said he's a better player than Podolski. And yes, he is it's undeniable here and now.
Learn your football.

Bitch slap, part 2

Want more?

Cerezo has said that he cannot guarantee Falcao will continue at Atletico.
Hence he's on the market. Another available player better than Podolski. But perhaps he needs a relegation season or 2 to really elevate himself to that world class status.

It's not even fun anymore and the back of my hand hurts from slapping you.

You compared David Villa unfavourably to Podolski.
David Villa. You know, the guy with all those trophies and who's actually succeeded.

What do you know dear child?

Stick to Spot the Dog son, your lyrics are weaker than a Walcott cross, you're dopier than an Alex Song tackle.

Please, away with you...

Hmm... not sure winning trophies means one player is better than another.

Phil Neville has won 6 Premier League titles, 1 champions league and numerous FA Cups....
Van Persie has won 1 FA Cup.

Who is better?

I know what you're getting at, mate - but your arguments are often full of holes. Probably because you're just so angry all the time

Baba is right. Podolski is a good player and even a very good one but you can't call him world class (FACT :barscarf: )
What is a world class player? It's a player who plays well and better than that against most opponents and over some period of time. Podolski has scored many goals for Germany but I don't like those stats.
Look at the opponents! It's a joke. He scores against teams like Liechtenstein, Thailand and San Marino. Is there a top team he scored against? Look it up. One against Brazil and one against England. He also scored against Côte d'Ivoire, Russia and Sweden and some in the same bracket BUT that adds up to maybe 10 goals against decent opponents. Proven world class?

Btw I don't say he is bad or that he can't become world class. But at the moment he is not in the same class as van Persie is and if he was bought to replace van Persie the team loses quality. That's it. I said it before. Arteta is a good player but the team lost quality when Arsenal bought Arteta and sold Fabregas. It might be the same with Podolski/van Persie.

World Class :rubchin: :rubchin: ............ Does that mean Podolski hasn't been included in the squad to play the Martians next month

Actually I would definitely include Podolski as "world class". It means he plays regularly for a good national team which Germany undoubtedly are.
Whether he is better than RVP remains to be seen.

No, no, no. Sorry, but no.

You don't automatically become "world class" just because you're an international for a top nation.

If a top international team just so happen to have a dearth of quality goalkeepers or left backs, then the one they end up reluctantly playing in that position doesn't become "world class" by default, surely?

I'd rather define "world class" purely on a players ability. Controversial, I know

i think that would be a fair point, but for the fact we're talking about a striker here - and whilst most quality teams can carry a shoddy keeper, back or DM (song anyone ?), your striker is your bread and butter. the striker doesn't perform, teh team doesn't perform.

and 95 performances is a nice sample - more than Rooney as I said.
