Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
Yes we all understand what's in it for him from his side but what I can't understand is why the club are saying they won't sell unless off course that is just spin.
There is no logic behind that and certainly doesn't fit club policy.

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
When I read short term agreement I (mis) understood that to likely be a 12 months extension to his current deal at £75k per week. That (for me) would be a good compromise and give this season for Theo to prove he is worth the 100k per week over 5 years.
Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
Isn't he still young enough for a tribunal instead of an absolute free contract?
Or when does that Elite Player bullshit come in?

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
Get rid of him.
The folly of the Wenger Emirates years is perfectly displayed with the case of Walcott. And you'dhave to ask if Walcott is irreplaceable - and he clearly isn't. I'm just sad that we've wasted years paying this guy big money to gently ease himself into the big time.

I like this. I am going to use it.
For what its worth, I think we let Walcott down more than he let us down.
At the time we signed him, he was shit shit hot. Combination of our style of play, dumping him out wide and frequent rotation in and out of the side have seen him develop into a fraction of what we initially signed up.
The Emirates Years.

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
NO - too frustrating, can't see you getting any better, so you ain't good enough, BUT , thanks for the goal away to Chelski and 2 in 2nd half to start the 5pur2 downfall last season, you need to do that every other game at least!
Assists and a hand full of goals, that's your day to day requirements so don't expect more for what you're expected to provide anyway you cheeky fuck!!

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
As I said on the transfer thread, this short term deal is utter utter bullshit and totally contravenes what has happened in recent history - how can we allow a player like rvp leave citing his contract situation even though he was far and away our key player last season, and yet keep a c**t that doesn't contribute 10% of what rvp did even though his contract situation was exactly the same ? There are a bus load of stupid c**ts running our club

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
Exactly. How can you justify letting Walnut run down his contract when you've just let a vastly superior player go to avoid him walking on a free? Everything this club does makes fuck all sense.augie wrote:As I said on the transfer thread, this short term deal is utter utter bullshit and totally contravenes what has happened in recent history - how can we allow a player like rvp leave citing his contract situation even though he was far and away our key player last season, and yet keep a c**t that doesn't contribute 10% of what rvp did even though his contract situation was exactly the same ? Please, please, please let him go. But I fear that a deal will be done at the last minute and he will be wheeled out at a press conference with a new contract and some spin about "a top quality player showing faith in Wenger's vision for the Club". Just get rid of him, please!

I am not sure exactly what deal has happened?
The papers say that Walcott and Wenger have a verbal agreement to continue negotiating because Walcott wants to stay, but not that a year's extension has been signed or even offered.

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
Difficult to actually decipher what's happened behind all the smoke and mirrors. Presumable Wally has fed Wenger what he wants to hear about commitment to the club and his project and that he will endeavour to reach a reasonable agreement with the club. In reality it suits him to let his contract to run down, more likely to pressure the board into offering an improved contract and bizarrely he won't be short of suitors willing to throw him big bucks next summer, particularly if there's no transfer fee involved. As far as I can see no agreement has been reached other than Walcott's word he does want to stay (despite not wanting to sign the contract on offer).QuartzGooner wrote:I am not sure exactly what deal has happened?

How the dick has the audacity to turn down £75k/w for 5 years is beyond me, I would feel ashamed earning that in a year if I was him! 45 minutes against Spurs isn't worth £5m over a season.
Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
Just heard he tried to sign the contract but lost control of the pen and overran it.

Re: Theo Walcott - Yes or No
100k? give it to him....cheaper than what rvp wanted, i mean top goal scorer, 3rd place, the nerve...hope theo stays....really need to see him blundering around the pitch with his "deer in the headlights look"......he's class...trained to perfection by the lord darth venger
please don't boo him if he stays...its good business
