This one's for DB... apparently stats show Diaby played well against Swansea :barscarf:

http://news.arseblog.com/2013/03/diaby- ... e-numbers/

The best bit is, the author was at the game and admits that when he got home and looked at the stats, he expected to see that Diaby had had a "disastrous match" but was surprised by what the stats showed... :o

And Diaby's stats were so impressive that the author later concludes that "The big guy who hardly puts a foot wrong, sits deep, shields the back four, looks forward (no “footballing crab”), doesn’t cough up possession needlessly, and makes an important clearance, in an important away game, against some top midfielders? It’s what I’ve always wanted."

What a great article. Start by admitting you thought the guy played disastrously, and then completely change your mind based on some rather flimsy evidence to the point that you conclude "IT'S WHAT I'VE ALWAYS WANTED"! :barscarf:

If anybody ever needed evidence that stats can be 100% (okay, I mean entirely  ) misleading then take a look at Paul Scholes' appearance off the bench vs Man Citeh in January 2012. United 'fans' were harking on about 96% passing accuracy (all one-twos with centre-halves with no pressure) whereas in reality he gave away a goal and generally did his best to try and blow a 3-0 lead against a team that had played with 10 men for 70 minutes, nearly succeeding. Stats said he was brilliant though.

That is genuinely hilarious, g88ner!

Reminds me of the time I watched Legohead lose posession under no immediate pressure at least 8 times, piss passes away to oppo players a good 7 times, fail to track back every single time and generally play like shit. I thought he was just shit, a useless lazy fucker. Then I saw later that he had in fact completed 24 passes and had a pass completion rate of 97%. Much better than I thought. Yes they were all 5 yard sideways passes and one ended up getting Diaby injured but God Legohead is just what I always wanted at The Arsenal. To hell with that Frank Lampard that only had a pass completion rate of 75% in the same game. And I don't give a shit if he scored one and set up another - THE FUCKING STATS DON'T LIE!! YIPPEE!!

Abou Diaby believes that his IMPREOVED HEALTH this season is down to the fact he has learnt to manage his body better.

Injuries restricted the France international to just 17 starts for Arsenal over the course of the previous two seasons, but he has made 14 this term.

The 26-year-old has been pleased with his impact, despite a lengthy absence before Christmas with a thigh injury, and is optimistic about the future.

“I am very happy to have made this number of starts,” Diaby told Arsenal Player. “I got injured for three months, which is a large part of the season, but even so I have still made 14 starts, which is really good. We also have nine games to go, so I will get to 16 or 17 or more, which is good.

“I have tried to look after myself a lot this season by having good treatment, a good recovery [period] and all the things that make a player better.

“I have improved my diet a lot, my lifestyle has always been OK because I don't go out too much and have always been a guy who stays at home and rests. I do all the exercises I need to improve my strength and my muscle weaknesses.

“I am still young and I know that I have many years left at the top level. I just need to look after myself every day and everything will be OK.”

Do not adjust your sets, this is a quote from today, 22/03/2013. Not another bumpety bump bump.

What has he been eating for the past seven seasons!

Thought the players were given decent nutrition advice from day one, that it was a big part of Wenger's management ethos?

I couldn't give a monkey's what the stats say although its reassuring they back up the simple fact that Abou had a decent game at Swansea.

At times his change of pace and ability to turn defence into attack at a pace none of our other players can reminded me of the pre-Dan Smith version of the Great Abou

Pleased to hear he's looking after himself......we need the last one or two world class talents we have to remain at the club

If Diaby is world class, Wilshere must be universe class.

Freaky, ain't it?
This 2008 Diaby thread, being bumped, and accepted as one of the family.

Kinda feel that a hoss head gonna end up inside me nylon sheets, or a soap on the roap dildo posted through the letterbox.

If you are what you eat, i can only summise that Diaby's diet has consisted mainly of poo and *****.

On that logic, I'd imagine Diaby's diet is not too dissimilar to your own, mate
