He's got links to the Christian Action Research and Education advocacy group which opposes homosexuality (they sponsored a conference which affirmed that homosexuality can be cured), abortion (its counsellors were filmed stating that an abortion can increase the probability of breast cancer and predispose women to become child abusers) and prostitution (are they crazy, how else is DB10 going to get laid??!!).
They also work to put their 'associates' into Parliament as researchers to MPs.

He's a 'committed' Christian, with 'a strong affinity to the Holy land'.

Worse still he was born in Scotland and brought up in Wales.

CARE is an obnoxious organisation and I distrust every politician who has a personal relationship with a magic man in the sky.

None of the candidates for the Tory or Labour leader engender much confidence.

Considering Boris has decided not to step up. Beginning to get the feeling the Government got the result it wanted. No government since we joined in 1972 has fully the EEC/ EU be it Conservative or Labour.

Is that a decent precis of the article because I have to go to sleep sometime and that looks a lot of reading!

His argument is that it will be the typical British "long grass", the longer we don't do it the less likely it is to happen. Rings true to me. Imagine being the PM who finally pushes the button.

Yeah he will have a mandate from the majority of the electorate which bothered to vote. exercising through countries democratic wishes despite the wailing of a few hurt lefties.

I've heard a few people in work say this. It's just wishful thinking from those who can't come to terms with the result.

I get the theory that the vote gives UK more leverage to negotiate in return for its continued membership. But the bottom line is that the EU will not negotiate on fundamental freedoms and without changes to the UK's ability to levy immigration controls (whether superficial or meaningful) there is no way they will placate Leave voters.

People aren't going to let this referendum result slide and if the UK were to stay within the EU it would take a bold act of defiance by politicians to simply refuse to honour the referendum result. And any MP doing so might as well kiss away the idea of any vote from constituents who voted Leave at future general elections.

Which now has more of a socio-comedic connotation than an insulting homophobic one, thanks mostly to the Ali G characterisation. Gays have claimed the word, much as they reclaimed "queer". According to Spuddy anyway.

If you seriously use the term "batty boy" as an insult in your everyday speech you will be viewed mostly as an asshole nowadays.

Back to the referendum ,it strikes me that it is most likely thaqt Theresa May will get in and she is unlikely to allow Brexit to happen !
Even if she does she will then enter into a rush of trade agreements which will mean the end of democracy in the uk forever .
Far worse than the EU far worse than anything you have EVER seen is TTIP !

It will change the world forever !
