The "Clive Xhakatard is a C*nt" c*nt Thread

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Is it just me or has the price of rail travel gone up ridiculously in the past few years?

I'm sure it hits plenty of people who commute to well-paid jobs etc but to me it seems to disproportionately hit those who can't afford to run a car. I live pretty much bang in the middle of the country and have to say even if you're fairly flexible there aren't that many places I can travel to at a reasonable price.

They seem to raise tickets by between 5-15% every year  - and if you have no choice but travel at peak times, then they've got you by the balls... bit like Arsenal really :x :(

Yeah I read every year about the stats that there has been a 5% rise in rail tickets, with up to 10 or 15% in some areas. Yet when I started university I swear I could get an off-peak return home for £28, which was £44 two years later.

I'm just surprised that the government hasn't done more to encourage rail travel given the importance of infrastructure and pressure regarding the environment and carbon emissions.

tickets have gone up on average by 20% over the past 8 years...they still don't add any more carraiges to the train so a fair portion of passengers still end up squashed like sardines and standing for much of their journey....

9033 Young chavvy drivers (always wearing baseball caps the wrong way round!) in their Vauxhall Novas, VW's, Focus's etc who obviously think the Highway Code doesn't apply to them and that if they drive straight out in front of you, they are entitled to give YOU the finger. One little shit nearly wiped me out today, with both of my young daughters with me in my car. Hopefully, they'll have a serious crash soon (as long as nobody else is involved) and we won't have to worry about them! Absolute scumbags!

9034. Rolling Stone Magazine for putting the Boston bomber on their cover.

They should stick to bands like Stillwater :barscarf: (oh, and if you don't have a clue who Stillwater are, then you are one lucky person... go watch Almost Famous. It'll set you free.) 8)

Blimey Khalid, if that's aimed at me then you completely misinterpreted the tone of my post. It was more a nod to a great film than expressing any "faux" outrage! 8)

It was aimed at people who were overreacting and raging over the magazine cover, not you. Your post was sober. Also I wanted to make the point that Rolling Stone have had killers on their cover in the past.
