As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It always helps when you have a run of games against some of the most average/shit teams in the league Of our domestic league fixtures, only 3 this season have been against teams that finished in the top half of the league last season (and two of them were Swansea and baggies )
Btw, arsole wenker is still a massive c**t
to be fair you can only beat who is in front of you,and we did see off spuds without breaking into a sweat and dismantled Napoli which was apparently 'our big test'.yes we have tough games to come but credit where credit is due,the next month will see how good/bad we really are but our points tally so far is impressive,we cant be that shoite can we,the table doesn't lie
We are nowhere near shite buddy and are a very good side but we will never be all we can be The day is fast approaching that we will have some quality midfielders sitting on the bench but still only have the worlds greatest Danish striker as our back up striker (and giroud is still not quality either although he is doing well this season ) I remain convinced that wenker will balls up ramsey's form and confidence very soon - when you have a player on the type of run he is on, then you play him (in his proper position) and don't rest him or play him out of position to accommodate others. Nobody expects ramsey's outstanding run of form to last forever but for me you use him properly until his displays start to slide cos then you can rest him and bring in one of the many quality midfielders we have warming the bench
I still cant get my head around the fact that (if the team is picked properly) we will soon have wenker in a position to pick 3 central midfielders from ozil, ramsey, wilshere, cazorla, arteta and flamoney and yet we have sparse options in the strikers dept

Looking at the threads on here atm there are going to be some exceedingly disappointed gooners in a few weeks. Little has changed. We're on a good run, some of the players are having a purple patch, but we haven't met anyone good and the PL is probably as bad as in the mid 90s. Enjoy it now and repent at your leisure.

Amen brother - it really is a pile of shite. The claim is that every team is now packed with international players. Wenger used that to illustrate Wigan as an example of advancement given their glittering array of internationals from Oman, Ecuador and Honduras......and it really stood them in good stead !
United's midfield has been ordinary for years and now Fergie has gone those players who gave it 150% for him are being exposed for what they are. City are a team without a leader without Kompany, and the Chavs are still an accident waiting to happen at the back, a shadow of Mourinho's 2005 and 2006 team defensively
Norwich had plenty of internationals too - Snodgrass, Pilkington, Fer, van Wolfswinkel....so fucking what? A bunch of 2-3 cap wonders who are second string for their national teams.
If we are still top going into Christmas I might well bow at my Dad's feet and doff my cap to There's Only One but the chances of that are slim. Even a weaker Chelsea and Citeh are much stronger than us over 38 games and I still expect nothing but the 4th placed trophy come May

Having sorted out Napoli and Spurs i do think the naysayers are being a little unfair however we will know what we really have at the end of 29 October. It is intriguing, and I have to admit I am enjoying being top and also watching Man U's death spiral.
I'm loving "Man Utd in Crisis". Wonder how stressed the Inner Little Boy is feeling?
Just hope our key players are still fit and firing when we play our main rivals, who seem at this stage to be Chavs and City. Mourinho always outthought Wenger, so this year we have to go out and outplay them, and hope for some luck. Wenger got lucky with Flamini who turned up like a sort of Easter bunny on his doorstep but has been crucial. And the unexpected massive improvement of Ramsey and Giroud. What a difference an umlaut makes
Confidence is a brittle thing. We need loads of it to keep playing the way we are right now.
Evening everybody. Not been on the forum for a while (forgot log in details, stupid I know). Very pleased with the start to the season, but am not getting carried away. If we are top on 01st of January 2014, I will then begin to get excited. In my opinion, if Arsenal mean business, they must spend again in Jan. Am worried by AW's recent comments - that development must come from within. If he does NOT spend again in jan, and they falter yet again, he would get (and deserve), torrents of abuse. We shall wait and see.....

We will be 5th/6th at New Year and we will spend fuck all. Please look at where our opponents have been in the league. With the exception of the scum they will all be scrapping to avoid relegation.

Indeed. We've only played one team currently in the top half of the table.
Still, let's forget that and get AW his contract extension sorted.
Pre last nights game, Neville and carragher showed our results and point tally from this seasons games and compared them to last seasons corresponding fixtures and showed up that we are 5pts down from last season - granted most of us level headed Gooners knew that, but at least it might quell the *****-a-thon about our form in the media The thing I will say though is that this season we do seem to be playing with more confidence but whether we have the same level of confidence in 6 weeks time remains to be seen
It does truly amaze me though (and I don't want to start steve o off on another rant here ) how many Gooners are in a constant orgasmic state at how we are currently doing and are in favour of wenker signing a new deal If our form and results continues like this until xmas then maybe I could understand it (but not agree with it) but to go ott this early and after the easy run of fixtures we have had, is mad imo

Fully agreed. Eight games against lower league opposition doesn't make up for the last eight miserable years.
