I Hate Hleb wrote:Happy to see Nic score but I disagree with the opinion that he had a 'very good match'. Yes, he done well to score his goal and he played a part in the winner, but Bendtner's touch and hold up play was awful for the majority of the game and for a big lad, he barely bothered to put himself about.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan and have often been one of the few voices on here that have defended him over the past couple of years and said that he is still young and will get better. However, even though I think that will still come true, I am starting to doubt whether big Nic can go on to become one of the best strikers of his type in the world and fulfil the potential that I saw in him 4 or so years ago.

I really believe that with the physical attributes he has, Bendtner could and should be so much more effective and dominant than he is. The guy should be harassing and bullying defenders and make sure that playing against him is a nightmare for opposition defences - much like Duncan Ferguson used to. Yet seeing him all too often strolling around letting a match pass him by without making the contribution that he could, I sometimes wonder if he really has the desire and attitude to back up his words in the media and become the world force that he could be. :?

Your right mate, thank god someone actually watches the game instead of trotting out the usual blinkered nonsense, i think there are a few on here write their Arsenal player reviews before the game even starts..

During and after the game i couldn't help think how disappointing Bendtner was and why did they persevere with him..Rommedahl although usually very frustrating was a constant threat and made Bendtner look a bit of a plodder, he deserved more than the pretty ineffectual Bendtner attacking with him.

As for Song, i was happy with his performance, it's nice to see him look so comfortable at international level, he certainly didn't look out of place and taking his age into consideration if i didn't already know him i would be quite impressed..

He may of play acted but Kaka definitely stuck his elbow in to the guy, as for the play acting i don't think the brazillians can talk about play acting, they were rolling around like they had been shot after every foul..

I watched the match, and yes, Nicklas didn't have his best match, but it was far from his worst one. He scored one, assisted one. He was only training every other day before this match because of his groin injury.

I really hope the Danes reach the next stage of the WC. Every minute he gets in a big competition like that, will give him more confidence to take on a more serious role in our team.

I dont see the problem in trying to stop a player for mindlessly running into you. There is a difference between an elbow and a forearm raised slightly.

This was your original quote, he most certainly didn't have a VERY GOOD MATCH and any one who thinks he did either didn't watch the game or is very deluded.

Not quite what you said originally...

If that was what he was doing why didn't he just put his hand out to hold him off..
I'm not saying what he did was in any way extreme but i think there was some intent there...his reaction afterwards when he walked as far away as he could get...didn't exactly make him look innocent either..

Its Kaka we are talking about mate, when was the last time you saw him excessively moan at a bad ref decision or get angry at an opponent.
Its almost like Klose getting sent off :?

If you call him lifting his forearm to a 45 degree or less angle to stop an idiot running into him Intent then  can't let cheats win in football.

Yea i love the guy, he's top man and a great player, it's totally out of character for him, but he put his elbow into the guys stomach, just cos it's not in his character it doesn't mean to say it didn't happen. It wasn't in Zidanes character to head butt somone, but he did..

I agree you can't let cheats win in football...and personally i would want players over reacting or feigning injury booked or sometimes sent off, but if that was the case there would have been at least four Brazil players and two Ivory Coast players booked or sent off for it tonight..

Have to disagree there BG. It's never a foul by kaka! There's absolutly no real bad intent. He sees the guy coming from the corner of his eye, and just puts his elbow to push him away. Ok, it's a tough play, but I'm quite suprised you'd be shocked by some tough game as you enjoy watching PL, which is one of the toughest league in europe. Then Keita just makes tons out of nothing, and that's a shame. Must agree though that the Brazilians over the game were not that better than keita. Some of them just gave the impression there were being shot in the leg!

As for Zidane, i can guarantee you that even if I see him in the same caliber as pele, Cruijf and maradona, he was still one crazy bad character. His headbutt against Materazzi in the Finals was not his first bloodlust. Neither were Pele, maradona, and Cruijf some church kids. But that doens't mean all of them were not great players of course!
