The Mesut Özil Thread

Ahhhhh, soft creamy butter that nut megs your taste buds and glides past canine teeth defenders whilst threading inch perfect delight betwixt bewitched tonsils.............

OR

.........when kept in the wrong conditions will become rancid , shows distinct off colour and may leave a foul taste in one's mouth.

Basically Wenger use wisely, put him in the right position not in the sun (out wide) and let him complement the other ingredients used.

( First part of this shit Metaphor reads like 'Fifty shades of Utterly Butterly '. People please feel free to...... err, borrow for that lunch time ***** bank moment * Foot note* may be used for margarine and lard eroticism also... )

But that would be like killing Cazorla who surprisingly is now playing in his correct position and getting man of the match awards.

Seriously, we all know Ozil is unlikely to ever wear the red and white again. Sad but true. :(

Hardly. Being the gutless lackadaisical bottler that he is it would be for the best if he continued he's career elsewhere.

Just before his return to the starting XI:

“I see him behind the striker or on the flank, where he doesn’t like to play,” Wenger said. “I prefer him central. In our team it’s very flexible anyway. When you play on the flank, you can move inside. We usually have one player who is more a winger and another more midfield.”

He doesn't like playing wide, but I'm going to stick him there anyway.

The pass to TR7 and his goal yesterday were just sublime- cant wait for more with Alexis in too

Glad he has bulked up, perhaps he has had a good time to mull life over whilst off :D

That was probably his best game for us even with him being shoehorned into the left. Why not just play him on the right of a 4-2-2-2 next to Cazorla as two trequaristas behind Giroud and Walcott where he can cut in with his left foot?

Still think we should sell him though if we can recoup most of the money we spunked on him.

Why are you wishing for us to sell our best #10?

Because Santi is having a good run?

Peace

Because some will never warm to him as they find him a cold fish. If he was all fire and brimstone, as opposed to wandering around like a hippie with the munchies, he would get an easier ride.

He is what he is.

I've never thought all that highly of him in the first place. Always felt he was made to look better than he really is with Germany and Madrid. To me he's always been a luxury player you get if the rest of your attackers are world class.

For me he is still not THE ONE, he needs to be more consistent and get stuck in more, we can't afford to carry luxury players we need grafters, he just has a negative posture for me seems uninterested etc Hopefully he will prove me wrong and I will gladly eat my words but the jury is still out on him for me.

He is a top quality player if given time and space, his vision is fantastic and the passes usually have the exact weight needed.

What he lacks is the tenacity to scrap, win the ball back but if we had a couple of ball winners in mf, we could allow him the freedom to float and cause damage.

Think Walcott and Sanchez will be delighted that he is in good form.
( he also seems to link with Giroud well )

I guess I'll judge Ozil not on assists but how well he retains possession. Pre injury he was giving up the ball for fun followed by an inevitable arm flapping of frustration.

Against Villa I don't remember more than a single occasion he gave the ball away. That's big progress albeit against the most unconfident team in the division. Onwards and upwards.

Not giving up the ball means that we can play him not just as a luxury player, but in the bigger games as well.

Wouldn't start him against Tottenham though.
