My missus and I have had an "ongoing discussion" about how over protective I am towards our kids. After what happened to those two poor little girls and the circumstances (lifted from a birthday party in the middle of a busy housing estate during broad daylight) my good wife has vowed to never ever fucking ever call me over protective again.

A cop friend of mine told me he heard from colleagues that a couple of locals got a good few slaps into the scumbag before the cops arrested him and then, sadly, them as well.

My son is nearly 10 ,and unfortunately myself and my wife have seperated,so he stays with me sometimes during the week,but where i live now i dont know any of the families around me so i dont let him out of my sight when he stays with me ,and he asked me the other day to trust him and let him out in the neighbourhood,but after what this scumbag did to those poor girls how the fuck is it possible.Now the neighbours could be very nice people but i dont know them ,i dont know their background or where they come from.When i was a child it was easier,as every family knew each other well.its shocking to say tht im afraid to let my child be a child.

I know exactly what you're saying Mac. But I think you are right to be so protective and cautious. You get one chance with your kids and one mistake could ruin all your lives forever. Sorry to hear about your break up mate. My bro went through it last year and it has been very hard on him as he doesn't get to see his 2 kids every day. I don't know how he or you deal with it, man. I miss my kids terribly even if I'm away overnight on business or at a footy match. Can't wait to get home to them.

It breaks my heart DB,but lucky enough we are on good terms,it hit me hard yesterday my father in law,died mon and was buried yesterday ,so at the funeral was surrounded by the in laws and then you realise wht you miss after 17 years.i got drunk as a skunk lol and think im still drunk.

Thanks DB,but getting back to children my son was with me mon and just out of the blue he stopped watching tv and came over to me and asked could he have a hug,after i hugged him he said to me daddy "you know i love you" only a small thing but made me so happy and filled me with pride,so to think there are people in this world tht want to hurt children sickens me.
